LET GO AND LET GOD The world is in turmoil With destruction and war; The hatred and killing Go on, more and more. We send our young men And women off to battle; We pick up the sword Like a mean bunch of cattle. Where does it get us? Where will it all end? We bury our dead And start over again? History repeats itself Time after time; We just go along, Memories in ryhme. The tears that we shed Are all lost in vain; Have we lost all faith? Should we fight again? I honor the flag, The red, white and blue; Yet when the wars start What do we do? It may be time to Let go and let God Sort it all out on This blood-soaked sod. Let God sort it out And fall to our knees; Let destruction and death End for us, please - He created the earth With love and devotion; We messed it up, And I have a notion That He wouldn't be happy To see what we've done; With all the hurting, Who has really won?
