LETTING GO

Sometimes it's best to let go
When the future holds no dream;
When the one you love doesn't love you,
It's best to make the break clean.

I can never turn my back away
On the good times that we had;
And letting go is not so easy
Even when things go bad.

I could try holding on
For a little longer, yet -
There is nothing left to say
And it's best that I forget.

Sometimes it's best to let go
And face the world alone;
I can stand a little taller
On my lonely way back home.
