FIRST LOVE
Oh yes, once we were in love, At least, so did I think. In the day I could not work, Nor, in night, had a wink. What I saw was what you saw, I walked in step with you. I had only you in dreams; For me the world was you. I just can’t forget those days, Forever gone are they. By the lure of the city, You were taken away. You went never to come back, Never to drop a line. I was no more in your thoughts, Your heart, no longer mine. I am happily married, My husband loves me, true; Yet in the world of my dreams, Lurking somewhere are you. Can I forget my First Love, Even though unfaithful? It was only your love that Made me so beautiful! * Written in abcb 7-6-7-6 format M C Gupta 10 September 2003
