The Last Performance
The curtain is falling but still he sings his song A tortuous rendition to be coaxed along A kindled kindness of a kindred kind heart Unwilling to admit that he's finished his part A laggard he's not as he performs on his stage While the meddlesome critics against him do rage He's always infectiously infatuated With impassioned delight that has not abated But he stumbles along as he performs his role A pitiful composite of a tortured soul Unknowing his time to perform has now passed And this time his performance could be his last He delivers his lines though his timing is flawed And laughs at his performance, the only one awed And though his audience sees him as bizarre Still he struts across the stage a fading star ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Words required to be used by "Para/Poem Challenge "Open"" Laggard...Meddlesome...Tortuous And the required line: kindled kindness of kindred kind heart and: infectiously infatuated with impassioned delight
