A Tree is a Tree is a Tree “A tree grows in Brooklyn” To heck with all that A tree grows in Memphis And frightens a cat A tree grows in Destin A lemon tree yes I’ll dance at the party And have lemon ches An outhouse is leaning In ol’ Mississip’ A tree grows beside it I don’t give a flip A tree grows out west In the Monterey sun And shades the young cowboy Intent on his fun So don’t give me Brooklyn I’m no lunatic Retire to your own tree And whittle a stick This poem was written for a challenge. You are given a number of words and challenged to write a poem containing those words. Sometimes you are given one or more phrases, in addition to the words. (required words and phrases in red) Wanna give it a try? Here's the location: http://www.writing.com/main/forums.php?item_id=213819 Candle Maker
