CAT NAP A slight change in the weather Stirs my urge to hibernate; Frustration grows as interruptions Cause my dreams to have to wait! I was hoping for a cat nap In the early afternoon But the telephone kept ringing And friends will be here soon! Still I had time for forty winks And in the blinking of an eye I fell asleep in my easy chair, Letting the world pass me by. Friends understand the change in me They know I've gotten old too soon, And that I like to take cat naps Any time in the afternoon. I awake to a haze filled sky, Refreshed and ready to go again; It helps to take a little time For yourself now and then! Countrymom 9/14/03
