One Last Yesterday
Remembering one more tomorrow

She moves through the apartment
Content, tame, openly lonely
Camera with finished film
Perfect memories of wide smiles
And half closed eyes
Poses made without expecting to be caught
All hanging heavily around her neck
Disposing of the camera on her desk
She readies herself for bed
Heart alive with death
Remembering one more tomorrow
One last yesterday
Turning on the faucet
Forgetting to splash the water on her face
Realizing the thing that hurts the most
Is the blue plastic toothbrush
Still sitting in the cup.

Prompt given to me by a friend...A girl, a camera, a lost love, and a toothbrush
