Worthy of love.

I have loved a thousand times, in this life of mine,
for loneliness was worst, than risking all for one.
And I’ve always thought, a hidden heart would suit me fine –
and nothing could be done, that couldn’t be undone.

Yet I ponder, on the past, and a thought occurred to me –
that those I’ve known in my life, were worthy of admire,
and gave to me, what I sought the most – all I long to see.
The many hearts’ I’ve broken, had what I desired.

But as I swim; threat afloat, drowning in my sorrows,
I was made to leave, from a life I’ve always wanted,
for the one that I truly loved, feared the comming morrows,
so left am I, a lonely soul, in a love so gently haunted.

But as I said, my last goodbyes, I prayed for her to say,
anything to stop my leaving, to make me wait for her.
I waited for her to call me, asking me to stay!
But I guess, I should have known - the ending was preferred.

I know it's my own lacking - that which ended us.
It was my own shadow, that kept my very distance.
I had lost the will to love, and forgotten how to trust.
It was, indeed, my own fears, that founded my existence.

So once again, I am found, with a memory it seems –
while I ask myself again, shall I look anew?
But will I pass, and leave behind, all these endless dreams?
As my heart, shall forever cry, “I will always love you.”
