BENEATH MY MASK
You are unhappy with me That my love I don’t show And never promise to you, I will not let you go. You wish I admire your eyes And say they are like pearls. You would love my saying that Your lips are like petals. You are angry with me since I don’t show what I feel And that my innermost thoughts To you I don’t reveal. You say I am too quiet And am often distraught. You feel I’m lost in my world And do not share my thought. My Love, there is none but you Whom I love or have loved. Feelings of my love for you, I’ve kept rather reserved. Those feelings are my treasure, They’re too close to my chest. I do’nt want to lose them, so I guard them to my best. I’m afraid of the day when, Away from your caress, I’m without your support in A life of wilderness. Written in abcb, 7-6-7-6 format M C Gupta 12 October 2003
