Waves
Quizmo LaGrande Elements of brown on grey Whiteness foams, then goes away. A greening curl, a sullen roar! Quiet never—stillness whored. Abruptly walls on grey-green stones, Rocks and boulders, ancient bones, Heed the weight of thirsty tons, Clueless, tumbled, marred, undone. A crashing in of woe and doubt “Crash on me!” I beg, I shout, “Wash away these dusty bones; Carry me in tides unknown To shorelines of serenity Yet on my shores, I sigh, there’ll be A misty grey and salty sea… A misty grey and salty me.” Again the darkened towers rise Down the surface whiteness slides Then pushes forward, crashing hail! Leaving but a misty trail Of wild horses white with rage, Forever gallop, escalade; Then sadly they dissolve appeased As bubbles burst to bear the breeze.
