HARVEST MOON
As we walk among the woods, By the side of lake serene; In the pleasant autumn chill, All alone, by no one seen; In the light of harvest moon Beneath yonder floating cloud; Hands embracing in a grasp, Silent, yet talking so loud About the message whispered By two racing, thumping hearts Which, though not spoken in words, Heavenly aura imparts To our primal nascent love, Which is pure, subtle and sweet; Let us make to each other, A promise solemn, discreet: That we will come once again, As we start another life; Around next harvest moon as Not lovers, but husband, wife. • Written in abcb, 7-7-7-7 format *Awarded First Prize in the earstwhile item no. 763216, “Cryptic Angel's Poetry Party” M C Gupta 19 Ocober 2003
