My Excuse Note -- Why I Didn't Write A Newsletter

I was going to write about right brain - left brain, and where the inspiration to write comes from, but my right brain became lost in the holiday bustle. I am unable to create or be original without it.

I began to research the subject and found some sites; then I dead-ended. My mind became mired in thoughts of Christmas dinner stuffs, gifts for the perfect grand-child, and a gift for the second oldest grand-daughter whose tastes run along the pierced nose ring lines. Apparently, her right brain was working.fine. She proudly showed me her new piercing today, (Christmas), and laughed at the shock that took over my usually placid, sweet self. Yes, my mind was taken over by ‘Real Life.’

Here is the gist of the subject, and as far as I got.

left brain
the collection of brain functions, thought to be located in the left side of the brain, which govern detail memory and retrieval and sequencing.

right brain
the collection of brain functions, thought to be located in the right side of the brain, which govern the recognition and creation of patterns and wholes.

All people have two brains which operate somewhat independently of one another. The left brain, in general, is more verbal than the right brain. It is also better trained in the educational process. For most people, the left brain is far stronger than the right brain. The right brain is, however, necessary for creativity and originality, thus it is hard to do much writing without it.

This year is almost over. I celebrated my First Anniversary on writing.com Dec. 15th, but it seemed I had just arrived. A year, it’s so hard to believe. I have learned so much, it would be impossible to make a list.

Among the highlights are being allowed to do this newsletter. I hope by the time my next edition is due, I will have recovered from seeing a silver nose ring in my beautiful grand-daughter's nose.

I found some wonderful items on inspiration though. Click on these items and
read. Inspriration comes in many differing ways, but always from the right brain hemisphere.

Prompt

How old were you when you started noticing stuff around you? What stood out most? Your mother? Your bedroom's decorations? Your own feet? Write a story from a young person's perspective that describes the things he or she notices.
