Hope

Betrayal cast long, gloomy shadows
Upon this, the sphere of our love;
We each carry sacrifices in our hearts,
Slowing the heavy steps we make.
Yet what of promises, desires and yearning?
Hesitation and prudence kept us apart.
Yet now, before us the dawning of hope,
Of wisdom and confidence, of feelings rekindled;
In truth never truly extinguished, merely
Cast aside until such time
When, no longer in doubt, we would arise
Emerge together into the world
Stating finally for all to see:
Whatever may happen, whatever will be
Our love will always bind us together
