MIRAGE
I thought you were my queen of love, Beautiful damsel, fair. Your looks were silken, you had an Aura of scented air. You bewitched me by just one glance, As though through sorcery. You cast on me a spell that made My life a mockery. The thought that you would ruin me, I had never conceived You concealed your real nature, Cunningly you deceived. Why did you have to break my heart? I’m a mental wreck now, Reduced to a caricature Of my own self, somehow. But why should I blame you for this? In your love I was blind. I simply pursued a mirage, No water could I find! • Written in abcb, 8-6-8-6 format M C Gupta 27 Ocober 2003
