A brisk chill upon the breeze whispers winter's on her way,
But splendid fall will entertain before she has her say. Feeling nippy, dew-drenched kisses gently brushing cheek Blushing to an autumn's tint of brilliance, quite unique. A spicy palette of colors splatter resplendent shades Of ginger, curry, and cayenne, which all too soon cascade Blanketing clove and basil beneath a quilt of vivid stains That echoes rustling melody hushed only by the rains. Paled solar globe casts shadows shivering as it fades While shining Harvest Moon leads twinkling star-studded parade. Fields of corn and wheat stalks that swayed in caressing wind Lie barren, guarded only by scarecrow with eerie grin. Fall's performance interrupted by grip of icy hand, As curtain call on autumn descends across the land. Seems winter grew impatient and rapped on nature's door; Dropping her white, lacy handkerchief upon earth's floor.
