Better Days
Everyone looks back and thinks about their "better days". At least sometimes!

I've seen better days.
Glancing back at our past.
Living love that we said would last.
Together now but without you.
Not knowing what to do.

Is the summer gone?
Has it been that long?
So numb and confused.
I'm standing again in the autumn wind.
But I remember you.

Like leaves of yesterday.
Dried tears, brown memories.
Breeze a blowing, fading away.
With my better days.

I've seen better days.
The colder the wind.
The deeper it cuts.
Changing what will be.
Changing me.

So here I am,
In the winter's wind.
Drifting snow on my path.
Makes a deeper journey.
But I remember your ways.
And my better days.
