"The Gift"
Trying to salvage what was left of my life, 2 divorces and the slide into alcoholism...

No gold coins,
have I to give,
or castles royal in which to live.

No glittering gems
to adorn your face,
or fine linen, or delicate lace.

But in my search for something true;
I found a gift to give to you...

I found a smile
that's sometimes real,
and I found a heart,
that can sometimes feel.

I found two ears
that are learning to hear;
and I found a mind, that is
sometimes clear.

I found two eyes,
willing to see;
that my gift for you is love,
and that gift is me.
