Shotgun Shells
To the tune of Jingle Bells
With apologies to whoever wrote the original.

This is a parody version of Jingle Bells written especially for Bubba and the whole Red House gang

Dashing through the swamp,
With barrel staves on my feet,
Dodging stumps and logs,
And a big ole gator named Pete,
Sailing across the slough,
Listening to the Evinrude hum,
Frogs and snakes better clear the way,
As I roar across the scum,

Oh, shotgun shell, pollywog tails, Hoot owls clear the way,
Oh what fun to make this run on a winter’s rainy day,
Keep the snow, we don’t know, what to do with all the ice,
To sit around in warm goose down is very, very nice.

Now grandpa’s eyes are glazed,
His hair is awfully thin,
I think he’s had too much,
Of Granny’s special blend.
Some people call it egg nog,
But the name it is not true,
She mixed it in a big wash pot,
And it smells like granny’s shoe.

Oh, shotgun shell, pollywog tails, Hoot owls clear the way,
Oh what fun to make this run on a winter’s rainy day,
Keep the snow, we don’t know, what to do with all the ice,
To sit around in warm goose down is very, very nice.

The table now is set,
You’d better not be late,
The rolls are just now done,
And the turkey’s on the grate,
Just a slab of turkey breast,
Dumplings by the spoon,
What fun it is to stuff yourself,
And sleep all afternoon.

Oh, shotgun shell, pollywog tails, Hoot owls clear the way,
Oh what fun to make this run on a winter’s rainy day,
Keep the snow, we don’t know, what to do with all the ice,
To sit around in warm goose down is very, very nice.

The big game has begun,
Bubba‘s the quarterback,
His brother is the center,
Whose name is Billy Jack,
Billy Bob’s the waterboy,
Uncle Jim Bob is the coach,
They’ve never won a single game
And the mascot is a roach.

Oh, shotgun shell, pollywog tails, Hoot owls clear the way,
Oh what fun to make this run on a winter’s rainy day,
Keep the snow, we don’t know, what to do with all the ice,
To sit around in warm goose down is very, very nice.
