New Prompt: We'll start this poetry week with the "Limerick"
Make a chain of limericks, maximum 7, about baking Christmas cookies that went wrong. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tossed Cookies There once was a mother from S’squatch Who loved making cookies from scratch. Her family explained The cookies contained A flavor that no one could match. A contest was planned for the season; Her entry should be mighty pleasin’! She worked through the night To get them just right, But her oven quit for some odd reason. Her children had bragged of their mother; Her cookies were not like no other. And Christmas was best ‘Cause they got to test Her cookies, one after another! She let out a sigh, then did pout. The entry she planned on was out. Her cookies were tossed, But all was not lost— After all, what is Christmas about?
