Inuyasha: Blood of a demon, heart of a human.
A fan fiction story based on the manga and anime by Rumiko Tahakashi. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.

In the city of San Diego, California. A small house in the suburbs was bustling with activity. In one room, however, a young boy of the age of 16 was still sleeping. His name was Kevin Tieshi. He was half Japanese on his mother’s side. Suddenly, his alarm went off and he groggily reached over and turned it off. He looked at the clock and it read 7:50 A.M.
“7:50. Oh no!” He jumped out of bed, ran into his closet and changed into his clothes, a white shirt with black jacket, blue jeans, and white shoes. He looked in the mirror and brushed his messy black hair back with his hand. He then ran down the stairs and into a kitchen. His mother was putting a plate of pancakes on the table, while his sister was drinking some juice. His dad was reading a paper.
“Morning.” Kevin said.
“Set your alarm clock an hour ahead again?” His sister asked.
“Yeah, so what if I did?” He asked.
“Kevin, are you going to have time for breakfast?” His dad asked.
“Yeah. I need to hurry, but I’ll have time.” Kevin grabbed a pancake, squirted some syrup in the middle, and wrapped it up like a sandwich. He then grabbed his backpack, a book, and his skateboard as he went out the door.
“Don’t forget that your cousin Kagome is coming tomorrow.” Kevin’s mom said.
“Okay. See you later.” Kevin said.

On his way to school, Kevin was riding on his skateboard, reading a book on Japanese history, one of his classes. As he neared school, he met up with one of his friends, Jake Amester.
“Hey, Kev. What’s up?” Jake asked.
“My grade won’t be if I don’t pass this test. Geez, I wish that my cousin from Japan had come earlier. I need some help on this test.” Kevin said.
“My friend Kammi might be able to help you out, she’s an expert on that stuff.” Jake said.
“Yeah. Man, I can’t wait for her to come.” Kevin said.
“Huh?” Jake asked.
“Kagome. She lives over in Japan, so I don’t get to see her much. I even arranged a position for her on that paint ball camp I’m going to for three days.” Kevin said.
“Hm, she sounds pretty nice. If I didn’t already have a girlfriend, I’d like to go out with her.” Jake said.
“Hey, now. Sit, boy. She’s my cousin.” Kevin said.
“I didn’t mean anything by that. Could you not tell Lindy? I’m already in trouble for that collection of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issues she found under my bed.” Jake said.
“No problem. I heard nothing.” Kevin said.
“All right, see you later.” Jake said.
“Not if I see you first.” Kevin said.
“Get the binoculars ready.” Jake said. He then walked into the school. Kevin put his skateboard away and prepared to go inside.
“Oh no! My math test, I forgot to study!” Kevin said.

Later that day, Kevin had just come home from school (he got a D+ on his math test, but aced his Japanese history test) when he noticed the family gardener, Howard, talking to a mailman.
“Hey, Howard.” Kevin said.
“Hello, Kevin. Hey, I think the mailman has a message here for you guys. I gotta’ get home, so see you later.” Howard turned around and walked out of the yard.
“See you later, Howard.” Kevin said. Kevin got the message from the mailman and walked inside his house.
“What did the mailman want, Kevin?” His mom asked.
“He had a message for us.” Kevin gave the letter to his mom, got his shoes off, and prepared to go upstairs.
“Oh, no.” His mom said.
“What’s wrong, honey?” Kevin’s dad asked.
“What happened?” Kevin’s sister asked. Kevin waited on the steps to hear the news.
“It’s a letter from Japan. Kagome isn’t coming.” His mom said.
“What?” Kevin asked.
“It seems that she caught arthritis and is unable to walk without feeling pain. Oh, we should send some flowers for her.” Kevin’s mom walked outside.
“Wait a sec’, how can you contract arthritis?” Kevin asked.
“I don’t know.” Kevin’s dad said.
“Too bad, I was looking forward to her coming.” Kevin’s sister walked into the kitchen.
“Well, I guess I get an extra seat on the way to paint ball camp.” Kevin walked upstairs.

The next day, Kevin had gotten his backpack ready to go. The bus for his paint ball camp would be there soon.
“Ah well, maybe Kagome might be able to come later.” Kevin said. He walked out of his room and went down the stairs. The rest of his family had left early to go shop for a gift for Kagome. Kevin was about ready to go outside when he heard a noise downstairs in the basement.
“What the heck was that?” Kevin asked. He reached into his backpack and pulled out his paint ball gun and mask. He then walked down the stairs of the basement. The basement was dark, lit only by a swinging lightbulb attached to a string. There were shelves of objects randomly placed around.
“Man, this basement really creeps me out.” Kevin said. His heavy breathing was steaming up his mask. Suddenly, a can of soup fell off a shelf near the door. Kevin turned around and started shooting paint balls at the shelf. He fired off about 10 shots before he noticed nothing was there. There was a mouse sitting on top of the shelf.
“Geez, that scared me. I’d better get upstairs before the bus leaves.” Kevin said. Suddenly, another noise sounded from the far wall. Kevin put his mask and paint ball gun back into his backpack. He walked over to the wall and tapped on it with his finger. Suddenly, the wall flashed blue and Kevin was pulled into it.

Kevin eventually came out of another wall.
“Ah, geez. I must be hallucinating or something.” Kevin said. “I hope I haven’t missed my bus.” Kevin turned around and noticed that the shelves and the stairway were gone. The entire basement looked different.
“Uh, okay. Where am I?” Kevin asked. He walked out through a cave entrance and noticed he was in a forest.
“Okay, I am officially freaked out now.” Kevin said. Suddenly, three men came out from the bushes.
“Hey, give us all your money or we’ll have to hurt ya.” One of them said.
Their clothes, Kevin thought, I’ve seen pictures like that. I’ve been transported back in time to Feudal Japan.
“Uh, I don’t have anything on me right now.” Kevin said.
“Well then we’ll just take your clothes and everything in your pack.” The second thief said.
“Oh, great.” Kevin said. Come on, think Kevin, think! My only chance out of this, besides having them kill me, would be to scare them. What would they be afraid of? Wait, I’ve got it.
“So, what’s yer answer?” The third thief asked. Kevin pulled his paint ball mask out of his backpack and turned around.
“You dare try to face me?! A great demon of monstrous power?” Kevin turned back toward the thieves while wearing his paint ball mask.
“AAAAAAAAAAAAA! It’s a demon!” The first thief yelled.
“We apologize for disturbing you, oh great demon.” The second thief said.
“Please don’t hurt us!” The third thief said.
“Be gone! Vanish from my presence!” Kevin yelled. The three thieves ran away screaming from Kevin. Kevin took off his mask and smiled.
“I can’t believe that actually worked. Now to find a way out of here.” Kevin said. Suddenly, more rustling occurred in the bushes. Kevin pulled his paint ball gun out.
“Didn’t I say to vanish from my pres....” Kevin didn’t get a chance to finish, he had to jump out of the way of a giant twister that came out of the bushes.
“What was that?” Kevin asked. Suddenly, a kid about his age with long silver hair, dog ears, a red kimono, and a huge sword jumped up from behind the bushes. It was clear to Kevin he was not friendly.
“Uh, oh.” Kevin said.
“All right, demon. Prepare to get punished by one of your own!” He yelled before landing and bringing down his sword close to Kevin. Kevin rolled aside and started running, but he tripped on a rock. The dog demon landed in front of him and prepared to take a slash with the sword again. Kevin pointed his paint ball gun and fired. The demon’s face was splattered with green paint.
“Ouch! That hurt!” He dropped his sword and tried to rub the paint off. Kevin ran into the forest.
“This is just great, I get transported back in time to the era of feudal Japan, I pretend to be a demon to scare off some thieves and I end up pissing off a real demon. My luck just keeps getting better and better!” Kevin cut through more trees. He looked behind him and noticed the demon was flying through the air and about to come down on him.
“Stand still!” The demon yelled.
“You didn’t say please!” Kevin yelled.
“Take this! Iron Reaver Soul Stealer!” The demon took a slash with one of his claws and cut a tree in half, narrowly missing Kevin.
“I’m not gonna’ last much longer against this guy! I need to get help.” Kevin said. Luckily, the fallen tree delayed the demon from continuing his pursuit. Kevin charged through the branches, losing sight of the demon. He eventually noticed a person with black hair in a black kimono standing in a clearing. It appeared that he was meditating.
“A monk! I’ve read that they can ward off demons. I need to get his attention.” Kevin said. Kevin ran up next to the monk.
“Hey! Do you hear me?” Kevin yelled. The monk opened his eyes.
“Huh? Who are you?” He asked.
“Never mind that, I’m being chased by a demon. Can you help me?” Kevin asked.
“Of course. Where is it?” The monk asked.
“Right there!” Kevin pointed at some rustling bushes. The monk picked up a staff that was near him and threw it into the bushes. The staff hit something.
“Ouch!” The demon came out of the bushes, rubbing his head.
“Wait, was that the demon you were talking about?” The monk asked.
“Yeah, That’s him.” Kevin said. Kevin, realizing the monk had the situation under control, ran into the trees.
“Miroku, what’s the big idea of throwing your staff at me?” The demon asked.
“Sorry, it’s just that this kid here.....Hey, where’d he go?” Miroku asked.
“That’s no kid!” The demon ran past Miroku and after Kevin. Kevin finally made it close to a village. The demon appeared from behind the trees again.
“Now I’ve got you!” The demon yelled. Kevin tripped again. Just as the demon was about to attack Kevin with that devastating “Reaver” attack, a voice sounded from the village.
“Sit boy!” The female voice yelled. Suddenly, the necklace around the demon’s neck glowed and he fell out of the air, slamming straight into the ground.
“Oh, man. That was close.” Kevin said. He heard two people walk up behind him. Kevin stood up, turned around and noticed them. They were two girls. One of them had long, black hair and had a suit of black armor on. She also had a small white cat with two tails on her shoulder. The other girl also had black hair, and was wearing a school uniform. Kevin recognized the second girl as his cousin, Kagome.
“Kevin?” Kagome asked.
“Kagome, is that you?” Kevin asked.
“Yeah, it’s me.” Kagome said. Kevin then got a smile on his face. Kagome smiled also. The two of them then gave each other a hug.
“It’s been so long since I’ve seen you” Kevin said.
“Same here.” Kagome said. The demon that had fallen out of the air woke back up and noticed them. He ran over and got between Kevin and Kagome, shoving Kevin out of the way.
“Hey! Get your filthy demon hands off of her!” He said.
“Get away from my cousin, you jerk!” Kevin yelled.
“Wait a second, Inuyasha. Did you just say he was a demon?” Kagome said.
“Yeah. I saw him scare off some humans and say he was a demon.” Inuyasha said.
“Oh come on, Kevin wouldn’t scare anyone. And I know for a fact that he isn’t a demon.” Kagome said.
“But what about his face?” Inuyasha asked.
“You mean this?” Kevin pulled his paint ball mask out and showed it to Inuyasha.
“Oh. Uh, well, you should’ve said something.” Inuyasha said.
“Said something?! You almost kill me, and all you can say is “you should’ve said something”?!” Kevin yelled.
“What? You want an apology? You did shoot me in the face with that green stuff!” Inuyasha yelled.
“Oh it’s only paint you big wuss!” Kevin said. Miroku came up to the group.
“Would you two knock it off?” Kagome asked.
“Sorry.” Kevin said.
“Sorry.” Inuyasha said.
“Everyone, this is my cousin, Kevin.” Kagome said.
“Uh, hi.” Kevin did a small wave with his hand.
“Pleased to meet you, I’m Sango.” The girl with Kagome said. The two tailed cat then jumped onto Kevin’s shoulder.
“He seems to like me.” Kevin said.
“That’s Kilala, and jumping on your shoulder is a good sign that he trusts you.” Sango said.
“I’m Miroku. We met earlier in the forest.” Miroku said. He offered his hand to Kevin, and Kevin shook it.
“I see you already met Inuyasha.” Kagome said.
“If you’re talking about dog boy over there, then yes.” Kevin said.
“Hey!” Inuyasha yelled.
“What? You can’t expect to insult me and then not get a comeback in return.”
“I’ll show you a comeback!” Inuyasha prepared to run toward Kevin, but a statue came out of the sky and slammed into his back, knocking him on the ground. A small fox creature then appeared next to him.
“Maybe you should try being nicer to the people you meet.” The fox creature said.
“Damn it, Shippo, get this statue off of me!” Inuyasha yelled.
“That’s Shippo, he’s another one of my friends.” Kagome said.
“Cool, I like him already.” Kevin said.
“So, Kevin, how do you know Kagome?” Miroku asked.
“Kevin’s my cousin. He lives in another country.” Kagome said.
“You mean there are other countries besides Japan?” Miroku asked.
“Yeah. You’ll discover the other ones soon.” Kevin said. “But anyway, I have to ask this. What in the heck is going on?”
“I think I need some time alone with Kevin to explain things. You guys should get ready for tonight’s watch.” Kagome said.
“All right. Come on, Kilala.” Sango said. Sango and Kilala walked off.
“I’ll honor your wishes, Kagome.” Miroku bowed and went back into the forest.
“I’ve got some other things to do, so see you later.” Shippo walked next to the statue, put his hand on it, and it disappeared. Inuyasha got up and glared at Shippo.
“Better watch it, kid.” Inuyasha said before walking away.. Kevin followed Kagome into one of the houses.
“Good thing everyone thinks I’m at paint ball camp.” Kevin said.

Inside the house, Kevin was eating some chow mein noodles in a Styrofoam cup.
“Mmmm, these are really good. Thanks, Kagome.” Kevin said in between slurps.
“You’re welcome. Didn’t you eat anything before you came?” Kagome asked.
“Nah. I was supposed to go to paint ball camp, but I got sidetracked and brought here.” Kevin said.
“Didn’t you pack any food?” Kagome asked.
“There was supposed to be food there, so I didn’t think I needed anything. All I packed was my paint ball gun, extra paint balls, a paint ball mask, some body armor, a flashlight, and duct tape.” Kevin said.
“Duct tape?” Kagome asked.
“I had an extra pocket in my backpack and I didn’t wanna’ waste it.” Kevin said. “So, heh heh, how’s your arthritis doing?”
“Oh, that. You got a letter, didn’t you?” Kagome asked. She put her hand on her face and shook her head.
“Yeah. No offense, but that’s a pretty lame excuse.” Kevin said.
“Actually, my grandpa covers for me when I come here, so the excuses are all his. I wish he would at least come up with an excuse that would concern a disease with someone my age.” Kagome said.
“Wait, you have one of those portals where you live?” Kevin asked.
“Yes. Except, you need to have these to get through mine.” She held up a necklace that had a jewel on it. The jewel looked like it had a few shards missing from it, almost like it had been broken and put together. Kevin noticed a few separate shards on a table next to Kagome.
“Cool necklace, where did you get it?” Kevin asked.
“It’s the jewel that’s really important. This jewel is called the Jewel of Four souls. It’s a sacred jewel that’s been in the history of this village for centuries.” Kagome said. Kevin had a confused look on his face.
“Uh, okay. So, you need that jewel to get through the portal?” Kevin asked.
“Yeah. It seems unusual that you were able to pass through the portal. The first time I went through, I had the jewel inside my body. You haven’t noticed anything unusual about yourself, have you?” Kagome asked.
“No, I haven’t, but you can never be sure exactly what’s in those hotdogs at the baseball stadium.” Kevin said. Kevin looked out the window of the house. Inuyasha was helping a villager with some buckets of water.
“What are you looking at?” Kagome asked.
“That Inuyasha guy. How can you stand him? He is the most arrogant, self centered, demon I have ever met. Although, he is the only demon I’ve ever met. Well, along with Shippo.” Kevin said.
“Actually, Inuyasha’s only half-demon.” Kagome said.
“Half? He’s pretty powerful for being only half-demon.” Kevin said.
“Yeah, he sure is.” Kagome said.
“So, what’s his story? Did the dogcatcher get lucky and find him?” Kevin said.
“No. He once wanted the sacred jewel to use its power to become full demon. You see, each shard of the jewel has the ability to increase the power of whoever possesses them. Anyway, the guardian of the jewel was going to deliver the jewel to Inuyasha in order for him to become full human.” Kagome said.
“Wait, I thought he wanted to become full demon.” Kevin said.
“After meeting the guardian of the jewel, he changed his mind. She was going to give the jewel to Inuyasha one day, but another demon named Naraku disguised himself as the guardian. She attacked him, causing Inuyasha to attack the village.” Kagome said.
“Whatever happened to the guardian?” Kevin asked.
“Naraku disguised himself as Inuyasha and attacked the guardian. She was wounded, but managed to seal Inuyasha by binding him to a tree with a magic arrow before she died. This all happened 50 years ago. Then, I found the portal in a mysterious well at the temple where my family lives. I released Inuyasha and since then we’ve been looking for the shards of the jewel, which was broken during battle.” Kagome said.
“Dang, the only thing I’ve done lately is buy a paint ball gun and pass a few tests.” Kevin said. “You know, Kagome. The two of you are exact opposites. I’m amazed you were able to work together without killing each other.”
“Well, I can’t say it didn’t come close to that occasionally. But now, we’re pretty close.” Kagome said.
“Close?” Kevin asked.
“Uh, well. You know what I mean by that.” Kagome said.
“All right, sorry.” Kevin said. Kevin looked out the window again and noticed Sango feeding Kilala. She had changed out of her armor and into a pink and white kimono.
“So, how’s your paint ball going?” Kagome asked.
“It’s going pretty girl.” Kevin said.
“Huh?” Kagome asked.
“What?” Kevin looked at Kagome again.
“You said “pretty girl”, did you mean to say pretty good?” Kagome asked.
“Oh, uh, yeah. Heh, heh, I meant to say that.” Kevin said.
“Are you feeling all right, Kevin? You seem distracted for some reason.” Kagome said. Kevin turned his attention back to the window. Sango was talking to another villager when Miroku walked next to her. He reached his hand out and patted her butt. She then turned around and punched him.
“Well, thanks for introducing everyone and explaining everything, Kagome. I’m going to go and look around the village.” Kevin stood up and walked through the door.

Later that night, Kevin was doing some maintenance on his paint ball gun when Miroku came into a house he was in.
“Hello, Kevin.” Miroku said.
“Hey, Miroku. How’s it going?” Kevin asked.
“Fine. I believe I saw Kagome going to a small pond near the village, preparing to bathe.” Miroku said.
“Are you saying that you want to see my cousin naked? What kind of monk are you?” Kevin stopped working on his paint ball gun to look at Miroku with a confused look.
“An extremely good one, can I help it if I happen to like girls?” Miroku asked. “Anyway, would you like to come with me?”
“No way, dude! She’s my cousin. We’re related, it would be too weird.” Kevin said.
“I also think I saw Sango going with her.” Miroku said.
“Let’s go.” Kevin put his paint ball gun away and ran out the door. Miroku followed him.

At the pond, Kagome and Sango were bathing and talking.
“You know, I think Kevin likes you, Sango.” Kagome said.
“How do you know that?” Sango said.
“While I was telling him about our adventures, he was looking out the window at you.” Kagome said.
“Well, I wasn’t going to admit this to anyone, but I thought he was extremely handsome the first time I saw him.” Sango said.
“Really?” Kagome asked.
“Yes, but I’m not sure if it will work out between us.” Sango said.
“Why not?” Kagome asked.
“I’m not sure I can love anyone anymore, after my family was killed.” Sango said. She looked down at the water.
“Hey, it’s okay. Kevin’s exactly the type of guy who knows how to comfort someone, plus he’s also a great friend if you don’t want to go out.” Kagome said.
Sango looked back up, “Thanks, Kagome.” Meanwhile, in some nearby bushes, Miroku was watching them.
“Isn’t this great, Kevin?” Miroku asked. Kevin was sitting down on the grass, facing opposite the pond.
“I can’t tell.” Kevin said.
“Don’t you want to take a look?” Miroku asked.
“No, I just don’t feel comfortable spying on them like that.” Kevin said.
“Don’t worry, I’m an expert on this.” Miroku said.
“Oh, really? How many times have you been caught?” Kevin asked.
“Uh, well. I’ve been caught every time.” Miroku said.
“You’re a bit too persistent.” Kevin said. Kevin got his paint ball gun out and started working on it again. Miroku looked over at the pond again, but he stepped on a stick, making a loud noise.
“Huh?” Kagome looked over at them.
“Hey, who’s over there?” Sango yelled.
“This is it, Kevin. They’ve spotted us and they’re coming over. But they aren’t going to beat us up because were are men united! Right, Kevin?” Miroku looked toward where Kevin was sitting. Kevin was nowhere to be found, only a green paint ball was left.
“Kevin?” Miroku asked. He looked around again. “Uh, oh.”

Kevin was running back toward the village.
“Maybe I shouldn’t have left Miroku there. Ah, well, sucks to be him.” Kevin looked back toward the pond. He then slammed into another person and fell on the ground.
“Ouch! Watch where you’re going!” Kevin rubbed his head and then looked at the person he ran into. Inuyasha was standing in front of him.
“You okay?” He asked.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Sorry about that.” Kevin said. Inuyasha helped him up.
“So, Miroku trick you into going to spy on Sango and Kagome?” Inuyasha asked.
“Yeah, that guy is the most perverted person I have ever met.” Kevin said. “Hey, how did you know that the girls were out there?”
“Well, I, uh. I was just checking on them, just making sure they were, ahem, safe.” Inuyasha said nervously.
“You’re going out with my cousin, aren’t you?” Kevin smiled and crossed his arms.
“Hey! How did you know that?” Inuyasha demanded.
“Just the way she talked about you. The only time I ever heard her talk about another guy like that was when she was 8 and a really muscular guy walked by us.” Kevin said.
“Yeah. Well, don’t go announcing it to everyone you meet.” Inuyasha said.
“Don’t worry I won’t.” Kevin said. “So, are there any other ones like you?”
“I’ve got a brother who’s full demon. His name’s Seshomaru. If you ever run into him, run away. He kills humans for sport and you’d be pretty easy prey.” Inuyasha said.
“Heh, heh. Okay.” Kevin said. He looked on Inuyasha’s shoulder and noticed a small bug. “Hold still, you’ve got something on you.” Kevin raised his hand up to swat the bug.
“Ahhhh! Don’t kill me!” The bug yelled.
“What the?” Kevin asked.
“Huh, oh, Myoga, there you are.” Inuyasha said.
“That thing can talk?” Kevin asked.
“Yeah. This is Myoga, he’s the advisor of our group.” Inuyasha said.
“Sorry about that, didn’t mean to try and kill you.” Kevin said.
“It’s all right. Anyway, Master Inuyasha, I looked through the forest and couldn’t find any traces of evil demons.” Myoga said.
“Huh? Why would you be looking for them?” Kevin asked.
“That’s the reason we’re here in this village. Lately, it’s come under attack from several evil demons. But tonight’s been quiet for some reason.” Inuyasha said.
“That’s good right?” Kevin asked. Suddenly, they heard a loud, shattering scream come from the forest.
“That sounded like Shippo!” Inuyasha said.
“Master, draw the Tetsuiga!” Myoga yelled.
“What?” Kevin asked.
“That’s the name of my sword.” Inuyasha pulled his large sword out of its sheath. Shippo ran through some bushes.
“What’s wrong, Shippo?” Kevin asked.
“It’s a big demon!” Shippo yelled. He ran behind Kevin and hid behind his leg.
“Where is it?” Inuyasha asked. As he said this, the ground began to shake. A large centipede monster smashed through the bushes where Shippo had come through. Kevin and Shippo dodged to the left of the monster, while Inuyasha leapt into a tree.
“What the heck was that?” Kevin asked.
“It’s heading toward the village!” Shippo yelled.
“Come on!” Inuyasha started jumping through the trees, following the centipede.
“Stay close to me.” Kevin said to Shippo. He pulled out his paint ball gun.
“I’m the one that should be looking out for you.” Shippo said. He took off toward the village.
“All right.” Kevin ran after Shippo.

At the village, some of the warriors were trying to fight the centipede, but weren’t having much luck. Kagome and Sango made it back to the village just as Kevin, Shippo, and Inuyasha did. Miroku also arrived, but he had bruises on his face.
“Kagome! Get the villagers into the safe location!” Inuyasha said.
“Come on! This way!” Kagome motioned the villagers into an underground section.
“Let’s do this!” Sango had changed into her armor and pulled out a large, wooden boomerang. She threw it toward the centipede, but it missed. Kilala, who had transformed into a larger version of herself, flew over to the battle. Shippo charged toward the monster.
“Take this! Fox Fire!” Shippo threw a blue fireball at the centipede. The centipede stopped temporarily, but soon charged forward again. Shippo got out of the way.
“Take this!” Inuyasha brought the Tetsuiga down on the centipede. The monster’s armor was cracked, but it still was determined to charge around. It drew its tail up and whacked Inuyasha. Inuyasha flew across the ground and eventually slammed into a tree. Kevin ran over to the tree.
“You okay?” Kevin asked.
“Great. Absolutely great.” Inuyasha said. He got to his feet. Kagome got up on one of the houses. She had a bow and arrow with her and was trying to shoot at the centipede, but none of her arrows were penetrating it.
“This thing is tough.” Sango said. She tried throwing her boomerang again, but the centipede dodged again.
“I’m getting really sick of this!” Inuyasha yelled. He leaped into the air above the centipede and came down on it again. The centipede thrashed around, trying to throw him off.
“Inuyasha’s going to fall off!” Shippo said.
“Not if I can help it!” Kevin charged forward toward the centipede’s face and started firing his paint ball gun. “Suck on this!” Kevin yelled. The centipede roared in pain.
“Now, Miroku! Use your Wind Tunnel!” Kagome yelled.
“Got it!” Miroku took some beads tied around his right wrist off. A massive void of black wind opened up in his palm and started sucking the centipede in. Inuyasha and Kevin got out of the way as the centipede disappeared into Miroku’s palm. Miroku then put the beads back on his wrist, and the void closed.
“Dang, that was cool.” Kevin said.
“All right! We defeated it!” Shippo said. The villagers came out of the refuge and cheered their heroes.
“Yeah, we rock.” Kevin said. Inuyasha walked up to him.
“Good job.” He said.
“Thanks, you too.” Kevin said. Everyone else then came over.
“Looks like the village is safe.” Miroku said.
“For this night, at least.” Sango said.
“They’ll be back tomorrow night. Maybe even worse than this.” Shippo said.
“We’ll just have to get ready again, hopefully this will show the demons that they can’t fight us.” Kagome said.
“We’d better get some sleep.” Miroku said. Everyone agreed and then went back to their places of rest. However, Inuyasha suddenly turned around and looked toward the forest with an anxious look. He drew the Tetsuiga.
“What is it, Inuyasha?” Kevin asked.
“Something’s out there. There’s a very strong force.” Inuyasha said.
“It was probably nothing, let’s get some sleep.” Kevin said. He walked toward a house.
“Yeah, you’re probably right.” Inuyasha said. He put the Tetsuiga away and followed Kevin. What neither of them noticed was that a person wearing a white baboon’s skin was standing on top of a tree out in the forest.

Two nights had passed since the centipede attack. Kevin realized he could only stay for another night before having to return home. He and Inuyasha were standing guard near the forest to watch for any demons. The last night had been surprisingly demon free and it didn’t look like any were going to come tonight. Kevin had his paint ball gun out and was walking across the ground. Inuyasha was sitting on the ground, popping his knuckles. Eventually, Kevin got bored and sat down too. He decided to use the duct tape in his backpack to fasten his flashlight to the barrel of his gun.
“Why are you doing that?” Inuyasha asked.
“I could probably see better with it on. That and I’m bored.” Kevin said.
“I want some action, this is ridiculous.” Inuyasha said.
“You know, you’re more eager to battle than roosters in a cock fight.” Kevin said.
“What’s a cock fight?” Inuyasha asked.
“It’s a fight where people bet money on roosters, and then the two of them fight to the death.” Kevin said.
“Interesting.” Inuyasha said.
“Yeah. They’ve also got dog fights, something you’d probably be good at, heh, heh.” Kevin said. Inuyasha then threw a rock at Kevin.
“Ouch, what was that for?!” Kevin yelled.
“Dog jokes really tick me off.” Inuyasha said with a glare.
“Okay, sorry. I’ll stop.” Kevin said.
“Now I can see why you’re Kagome’s cousin. You always end up finding ways to tick me off, but in the end you get my respect.” Inuyasha said. He smiled.
“Thanks.” Kevin said. Suddenly, a noise that sounded like a low siren echoed from the forest. Inuyasha and Kevin jumped to their feet.
“What the heck was that?” Inuyasha asked.
“It could be another demon. I’ll check it out.” Kevin said.
“Be careful.” Inuyasha said.
“Don’t worry, I will.” Kevin walked forward into the dark forest.

Kevin had been looking through the forest for about an hour. He hadn’t found the source of the noise earlier, though he had heard it a few more times. Kevin pointed his paintball gun around the trees, his flashlight casting shadows on them.
“Well, I’d better be heading back. Too bad I couldn’t find anything.” Kevin turned around and began going back toward the village. However, a long, blue snake with red eyes flew over him.
“What the hell?” Kevin looked up at it. The snake was carrying a glowing ball.
“That must be my mystery demon.” Kevin said. He followed the snake through the forest until he reached a clearing. In the clearing he saw a girl that looked like Kagome, except she was wearing a white and orange kimono and her hair was tied into a ponytail.
“Kagome? What are you doing out here?” Kevin asked. The girl turned around. Kevin realized that this wasn’t Kagome.
“Who are you?” She asked.
“You’re not Kagome, what are you doing here?” Kevin asked. Several more of the snake creatures came into the clearing. A few of them who were carrying energy balls gave them to the impersonator. She absorbed them into her body.
“What the heck?” Kevin asked. The girl then pulled out a bow. “Uh, oh.” Kevin turned around and ran away. The girl fired an arrow, narrowly missing Kevin’s head.
“Come back here!” The girl yelled.
“Now I’m getting chased again!” Kevin yelled. “This sucks!” He pointed his paintball gun behind him and fired several blind shots, not sure if he hit anything. Another arrow flew toward him, this time it hit his CO2 tank on his paintball gun. Kevin ran faster and didn’t stop until he got back to the village.
“What’s going on?” Inuyasha asked. By this time, the others had come out.
“There’s a crazy chick with a bow and arrow after me!” Kevin yelled. He showed Inuyasha his CO2 tank with the arrow embedded in it.
“All right, get behind me.” Inuyasha said. Kevin ran to the rest of the group. Inuyasha drew the Tetsuiga and prepared to fight. The girl then ran out of the forest and prepared another arrow. Inuyasha lowered Tetsuiga and looked at the girl with a surprised look.
“What are you waiting for? Waste her!” Kevin yelled.
“I...I...I can’t.” Inuyasha said. The girl then lowered her bow.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t know.” She said. She then turned around and ran back into the forest.
“Kikyo! Wait!” Inuyasha ran forward, but eventually stoppped.
“Who’s Kikyo?” Kevin asked.
“She’s the original guardian of the sacred jewel.” Kagome said.
“I thought she was dead.” Kevin said.
“An evil witch revived her, but she has to use those snake demons to acquire dead souls in order to sustain her life.” Miroku said.
“Kind of a pointless existence if you ask me.” Sango said.
“I completely agree with you.” Kevin said. Suddenly, three creatures flew above them. They looked like humans with wings.
“Demons!” Shippo yelled.
“Let’s go!” Kevin yelled. He replaced his damaged CO2 tank and ran toward the village. Kevin charged into the village. He noticed that one of the demons was trying to claw a villager. Kevin took his paintball gun and struck the demon with it. It flew away, allowing the villager to run to the refuge. Kevin then fired at the demon, bringing it down.
“All right, one down.” Kevin said. Suddenly, one of the demons flew up behind him. The rest of the group came into the village.
“Look out, Kevin!” Miroku yelled. Kevin turned and saw the winged demon, only to have it stick out one of its claws and slash him in the arm. Kevin fell to the ground. His arm had a large gash in it and was bleeding. He dropped his paintball gun next to him.
“Ugh! My arm!” Kevin yelled. He tried to grab for his gun, but the same demon who slashed his arm grabbed it and snapped it into pieces. It then turned toward Kevin to finish him off. Suddenly, Inuyasha flew through the air and cut the demon in half.
“Inuyasha, thank you.” Kevin said.
“No problem, but you’d better get to the refuge with the rest of the villagers. Without your paintball gun, you can’t fight.” Inuyasha said.
“I hate to say it, but you’re right.” Kevin said. Sango ran up to them. More of the winged demons had arrived, so the rest of the group was occupied with them.
“Kevin, are you okay?” Sango asked. She helped him up.
“Aside from a nasty cut on my arm and having to get a new paintball gun, I’m fine.” Kevin said. Another one of the winged demons came. It flew right in front of them and prepared to attack.
“Oh no you don’t!” Inuyasha yelled. The demon flew toward him and stabbed Inuyasha in the arm with one of its claws. Sango and Kevin were sprayed with his blood. Some of the blood went into Kevin’s wound.
“Inuyasha, you okay?” Kevin asked. Inuyasha pulled the demon’s claw out of his arm and jammed the Tetsuiga through its head. The demon fell to the ground and disappeared.
“I’m fine, Kevin. You two get to the refuge, I’ll go help the others.” He took off toward the group of winged demons.
“All right, lets.....Argh!” Kevin fell to the ground, clutching his arm.
“What’s wrong?” Sango asked.
“My cut, it’s burning! Help me!” Kevin yelled. Kevin then fell unconscious. Sango got down on the ground and tried to wake him up.
“Kevin, Kevin!” She yelled, shaking his shoulders. Kevin didn’t wake up, although she could feel he was still breathing. Kagome fired an arrow at one of the demons, destroying it. She then ran over to them.
“What’s wrong with him?” Kagome asked.
“I don’t know, could you help me carry him?” Sango said. The two of them picked up Kevin and brought him into a section of the refuge where villagers were being treated for injuries. Sango and Kagome put Kevin down on a bed. Sango put a wet cloth on his head.
“I hope he’ll be okay.” Sango said.
“Me too.” Kagome said. Inuyasha, Miroku, and Shippo walked into the room the girls were in.
“Whoa, what happened to Kevin?” Shippo asked.
“We don’t know yet, how is the fight going?” Sango said.
“Heh, those oversized chickens ran away. I can’t believe we wasted our time with them.” Inuyasha said.
“Do you think their claws could have been tipped with poison?” Kagome said.
“Possibly, but it would have kicked in much more quickly.” Sango said.
“Uh, does anyone care that I saved the village?” Inuyasha asked.
“You? I got more of them than you did!” Shippo yelled.
“Yeah right! I got the most!” Inuyasha yelled.
“Arguing doesn’t solve anything. Besides, I believe I got the most of them.” Miroku said.
“No you didn’t!” Inuyasha and Shippo yelled. The three of them then started to argue about who got the most demons. Eventually, Sango stepped in between all of them.
“You should all be ashamed of yourselves! Kevin is laying on that bed right there, probably dying and all you can talk about is who killed more demons! It makes me sick!” She yelled. Kagome put a bandage around Kevin’s arm.
“She’s right.” Inuyasha said.
“We should be ashamed of ourselves.” Shippo said.
“I feel so horrible.” Miroku said. Kevin then clenched his teeth and twitched his eyes.
“Hey! He’s waking up!” Kagome said. Kevin opened his eyes.
“Hey, you okay?” Sango asked.
“Yeah, actually I feel better than I did when the battle started.” Kevin said. He jumped off the bed he was on.
“Hey, you’d better take it easy.” Kagome said. Suddenly, one of the village warriors came down into the refuge.
“They have returned!” He yelled.
“All right, time to rack up some more kills.” Inuyasha said. He charged out of the refuge.
“Hey, wait for me!” Shippo yelled. He followed Inuyasha.
“Perfect, I’ve got a score to settle with those bird things.” Kevin said. He pulled the bandage off his arm and followed Shippo. However, the cut on his arm had mysteriously healed, almost as if it was never there.
“Okay, that’s unusual.” Sango said.
“What is?” Kagome asked.
“The cut on Kevin’s arm from that demon. It was nearly down to the bone and it healed instantly. I’m sure it wasn’t the bandage.” Sango said.
“Hmmmm, you’re right.” Kagome said. She then noticed Miroku was still in the refuge. “Hey, aren’t you going to go help them?”
“They have enough force as it is, and Myoga wanted to talk to me about something.” Miroku said.
“Where is the little bloodsucker anyway?” Kagome asked.
“Right here.” Myoga hopped onto the table in the treatment room.
“Good, what was that thing you wanted to tell me?” Miroku asked.
“Ah yes, I found out some interesting information. It may not help us out much, but it is worth hearing. There are a few demons I have talked with, who say demon blood could be used for a medicine. According to the demons, several wounded soldiers were given demon blood. While their wounds healed quickly, they took on the characteristics of the demons they received the blood from. It was soon discontinued after the humans used their newfound powers for greedy purposes.” Myoga said.
“Wow, that’s amazing.” Kagome said.
“Wait a second!” Sango yelled. Everyone looked at her. “Did you say that when the soldiers received demon blood into their body, it cured them of all wounds?”
“Yes.” Myoga said.
“It’s not that unusual. In the present we use blood to help people who are wounded, but it’s other human blood, not demon blood.” Kagome said.
“I know, but when Inuyasha was protecting me and Kevin from one of those demons, he got stabbed with one of their claws.” Sango said.
“Oh no! Is he all right?” Kagome asked.
“Yes, but Kevin and I were sprayed with some of his blood, and I think some of the blood got into Kevin’s wound.” Sango said.
“Then that means....” Miroku said.
“Kevin’s part demon now?” Kagome asked.

Outside, Shippo and Inuyasha were fighting against several more of the bird demons. Kevin had led one away from the rest of the group and was attacking it with martial arts tactics.
“After this you’re going to think twice about messing with someone’s stuff again.” Kevin said. He rushed forward and kicked the demon in the head. The demon reeled back from the attack.
“Good job, Kevin!” Inuyasha said.
“Thanks!” Kevin yelled back. Suddenly, his arm began to severely burn. Kevin fell to the ground in pain. The burning spread throughout the rest of his body. “What’s going on? I thought this was over!” Seeing an opportunity, the demon tried to go after Kevin. Shippo noticed and threw a fireball at the demon, destroying it. Kevin was still on the ground. Inuyasha swung the Tetsuiga around and destroyed the rest of the demons that were around him. By this time, Kagome, Sango, and Miroku had come out. Kagome and Sango ran over to Kevin. Miroku went over to get Inuyasha and Shippo.
“Kevin, are okay?” Kagome asked.
“Say something!” Sango said. Kevin continued to groan as his pain got worse. His eyes suddenly turned blood red. Fangs then shot out through his gums and his hands became clawed.
“Ahhhhhhh! What’s happening to me!?” Kevin yelled. The pain then stopped and Kevin’s eyes returned to their original color. He then stood back up.
“Uh, Kevin?” Kagome asked. Kevin remained silent. He still had a look of shock on his face. He felt his mouth and his new fangs. He then stretched out his arms and looked at his clawed hands. Kevin then fell onto the ground again. Miroku, Shippo, and Inuyasha came over to them.
“Kevin, are you okay?” Sango asked.
“Yeah, I’m cool. I’m okay.” Kevin said.
“Are you sure?” Miroku asked.
“Oh, yeah. I’m just fine. Except for the fact that I have freakin’ claws and fangs now!!!!!!” Kevin yelled.
“That kind of makes me wonder, how did this happen?” Inuyasha asked.
“In a way, it’s your fault.” Miroku said.
“Hey! Don’t start blaming me for this!” Inuyasha yelled.
“Some of your blood got into his cut, so he got your demon abilities.” Sango said.
“Oh no! Two Inuyashas? That’s horrible!” Shippo said.
“Why you little....” Inuyasha said.
“Hey! I’m the one afflicted with this here! So, is there any cure for it?” Kevin asked.
“I’m afraid not. By now, the blood has completely flowed through your body. You now have complete demon blood.” Myoga said.
“But, Inuyasha’s only half demon, how could his blood make me a demon?”
“First of all, if any demon is in the blood, the transfusion will automatically work. You’re also not full demon, you’re not even half.” Myoga said.
“So, what am I?” Kevin asked.
“You’re somewhere between human and demon, a hybrid of two races, possessing no real strengths or weaknesses.” Myoga said.
“So basically I’m a human with demon powers.” Kevin said.
“Uh, okay, that could be another way of saying it.” Myoga said.
“Well, I guess this means the two of you will have to start working together more now that you’re related.” Kagome said. She looked at Kevin and Inuyasha.
“Related? Hey, just because I have his blood now doesn’t mean....” Kevin started.
“She’s right, Kevin.” Inuyasha said.
“Huh?” Kevin asked.
“We are related now. We both have the same blood.” Inuyasha said. He walked away from the rest of the group. Kevin followed him. Inuyasha had a depressed look on his face.
“Hey, what’s wrong?” Kevin asked.
“I, I’m sorry.” Inuyasha said.
“For what?” Kevin asked.
“For everything. For attacking you, for not liking you, for causing you all this pain, and for causing you to become a demon. I’m sorry.” Inuyasha said. He looked away from Kevin
“Hey! None of this is your fault!” Kevin yelled. Inuyasha looked at him. “I forgave you for attacking me and giving me all that crap. As for the other stuff, it was not your fault I got stabbed by that demon, and it definetely was not your fault I got your blood inside my body. I don’t think it’s a bad thing I’m a demon now. You obviously seem to get by, so why can’t I?” Kevin asked. Suddenly, the ground shook. A massive vine smashed up through the ground and grabbed ahold of Sango.
“Hey! Let me go!” Sango yelled. Kilala transformed into a bigger, fire cat form and tried to save Sango, but ended up getting restrained by another vine. Eventually, a giant plant creature with an enormous mouth and long brown body came up from the ground. Vines covered all parts of its body.
“You feeling up to the battle?” Kevin asked.
“Yeah, I accept your forgiveness, let’s take this thing down!” Inuyasha said. Kagome tried to shoot an arrow to free Sango and Kirara, but the plant demon was ahead of her. It shot out another vine and tried to grab her. Miroku stepped in the way and got grabbed instead.
“Miroku!” Kagome yelled. Another vine ended up getting her too.
“Put her down!” Inuyasha thrust his claw into his shoulder. He pulled it back out, blood covering his fingers. “Blades of Blood!” He yelled. Inuyasha threw the blood at the monster. The blood turned into red blades, cutting several of the vines, but the rest of the group was still up in the air.
“Damn it! I missed!” Inuyasha yelled.
“Don’t worry about it, let’s keep trying.” Kevin said. Another vine was coming their way. Inuyasha dodged out of the way, while Kevin jumped over it.
“Fox Fire!” Shippo attacked the demon, but his attack was too weak. He too was captured. Inuyasha dodged several more vines, but he eventually was grabbed also. Kevin was now the only one left who could fight.
“Uh, oh.” Kevin said. The plant demon shot a spiked vine toward him.
“Kevin, look out!” Kagome yelled. The vine drove right into Kevin’s shoulder and came out the other end. Kevin reeled back from the blow.
“Kevin!” Sango yelled. Kevin smiled and pulled the vine out of his shoulder and sliced it off with his claws.
“Big mistake. I didn’t feel a thing.” Kevin said.
“Get him, Kevin!” Inuyasha said.
“Pound that vile demon!” Miroku said.
“Don’t worry! I’ll give you what you ask for!” Kevin yelled. The demon sent another vine toward him, but Kevin jumped high into the air. He stuck his hand into his shoulder wound and got blood on his fingers.
“Blades of Blood!” Kevin threw the red blades out of his hand. The vines holding his friends were sliced apart, freeing them.
“We’re free!” Shippo yelled.
“Good job, Kevin!” Sango yelled. Kilala growled in appreciation.
“I aint finished yet!” Kevin yelled.
“Boy, he’s even starting to talk like you.” Kagome said to Inuyasha.
“Yeah, whatever.” Inuyasha said. Kevin started coming down out of the air.
“Iron Reaver Soul Stealer!” Kevin yelled. He came down on the plant demon, slicing the head, then the body in half. The demon fell apart on the ground and the two pieces melted back into the ground.. Kevin dusted his hands off.
“All right. So much for that.” Kevin said.
“That was great, Kevin!” Kagome said.
“Way to waste that demon!” Shippo said. Kevin walked over to them.
“Thanks for saving us.” Sango said.
“I am eternally grateful.” Miroku said.
“Nice use of your claws.” Inuyasha said.
“Well, I guess being a demon isn’t really as bad I thought it was.” Kevin smiled, but then turned around with a worried look on his face and looked at the forest.
“What’s wrong?” Kagome asked.
“Something’s out there.” Kevin said. He ran into the forest, followed by the rest of the group. By this time, the sun was beginning to rise over the night sky.

In a clearing of the forest, Kevin stopped suddenly. The rest of the group stopped too.
“Okay, is there any reason why you’ve led us out here?” Miroku asked.
“I sensed something.” Kevin said.
“Was it kind of a feeling that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up?” Inuyasha asked.
“Yeah, except I don’t know what it’s from.” Kevin said. Inuyasha then got the same feeling Kevin had. So did Shippo.
“What is wrong with you three?” Kagome asked.
“There’s something out there. It’s got to be another demon.” Inuyasha said.
“Only it’s not the kind that we’ve been fighting. It’s stronger in some way.” Shippo said. Kilala then faced toward a bush and growled.
“What’s wrong, Kilala?” Sango asked. What Sango didn’t know was that someone was sneaking up behind her. The mysterious person had a knife in his hand and was wearing baboon skin. Kevin noticed him.
“Sango! Behind you!” He yelled.
“Huh?” Sango asked. She noticed the attacker and used her boomerang to block the knife strike. The baboon skinned man then charged toward Kagome.
“Oh no you don’t!” Inuyasha tackled him and brought the man down.
“Thanks, Inuyasha.” Kagome said.
“So, Naraku, you finally show yourself.” Inuyasha said to the man.
“Naraku?” Kevin asked.
“Yes, I see you’ve been having some skirmishes with my demons.” The man said.
“You’ve been ordering those demons to attack? Innocent people could have been hurt!” Kevin yelled.
“Those humans have no use for me. All I want is the sacred jewel.” Naraku said.
“Naraku, you dirty son of a....” Inuyasha didn’t get a chance to finish because Naraku threw him off. Sango and Miroku tried to attack, but Naraku swatted them away like flies. Kevin then charged forward.
“Take this!” Kevin tried to attack Naraku, but he was clothes lined by Naraku and landed on the ground.
“It’s been fun, but I have to go now.” Naraku then brought his hand down and opened a portal. Kevin stood up and noticed that the town center of San Diego was in the portal. Naraku then walked through and disappeared.
“Where did he go?” Shippo asked. Kagome ran over to help Kevin up.
“Are you okay?” She asked.
“Yeah. I’m all right.” Kevin said. Inuyasha, Sango, and Miroku got to their feet. Kilala transformed back and ran over to Sango. Together, they walked back to the village.

Meanwhile, in San Diego, Howard was on his way to work. He wanted to get in early so he could finish some hedges and take an early lunch break. Suddenly, he noticed a man standing in the alley with a baboon’s skin.
“Hello, Howard.” He said.
“Who are you, and how do you know my name?” Howard asked.
“I know everything about you. I know how you are mistreated by the family you work for.” Naraku said
“Wait a minute, they don’t mistreat me.” Howard said.
“Actually, you are. You just don’t see it. I can help you, though.” Naraku said.
“Look, pal. I gotta’ get going.” Howard turned around.
“It seems you need a little convincing.” Naraku threw a purple jewel shard at Howard. It embedded into Howard’s back and he collapsed on the ground.
“What did you do to me?” Howard yelled.
“I just gave you unbelievable power. Now, go and destroy the portal to the other world.” Naraku said.
“Yes, master Naraku.” Howard said.

“Ow, watch it with that stuff.” Kevin said. Kagome was putting some peroxide on the scrape he had gotten when he fell.
“Sorry, I know that it stings, but it’ll feel better once the stinging stops.” Kagome said.
“We’re still faced with the dilemma of where we’re supposed to find Naraku.” Miroku said.
“I quit sensing him after he went through that portal.” Inuyasha said. “Any ideas where he might have gone?”
“I’m still trying to get over the fact that I got my ass kicked by a dude wearing a monkey suit.” Kevin said.
“Well, he’s got to be around here. We can’t let him get away with attacking this village.” Sango said.
“Hmmmm, Kagome, is it a possibility he might have gone back to your world?” Shippo said.
“Well, he did go through a portal. I guess we could go back and see if he’s there.” Kagome said. “If he is there, I just hope my family will be okay until we can make it back.” Kevin then thought about what he saw in Naraku’s portal.
“He’s in the modern world all right. But I think your family is going to be just fine, Kagome.” Kevin said.
“Why?” Kagome asked.
“Because he isn’t in your city. He’s in mine.” Kevin said.
“What?” Inuyasha asked.
“You mean he’s in San Diego?” Kagome asked.
“Exactly. I saw the town center when he went through the portal.” Kevin said.
“Okay, so how do we handle this situation?” Miroku asked.
“We go there and take him down.” Kevin said.
“You mean, to the present?” Sango asked.
“I’m with Kevin on this.” Inuyasha said.
“I am too.” Shippo said. “I’ve never been to the present, but I’m not afraid.”
“As a person who looks for adventure, I will come too.” Miroku said.
“Hey, don’t leave me out.” Kagome said.
Sango stood up, “Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go!”

The group was on its way to the portal in the cave where Kevin’s portal was at.
“So, is there anything we need to know about the other world that will help us?” Miroku asked Kevin.
“No, just follow my lead and you’ll be fine.” Kevin said.
“Hey, where’s Myoga at?” Kagome asked.
“He said he wanted to stay here. Something about how time traveling makes him nervous.” Shippo said.
“I’m still ready to fight against Naraku wherever he goes.” Inuyasha said.
“Okay, there it is!” Sango said. She had noticed the cave. The group ran inside.
“Here we go!” Shippo ran toward the wall and jumped through.
“Ladies first.” Miroku said. Sango threw him through the portal.
“Nice try, Miroku!” Sango said. She followed through. Inuyasha jumped through also. Kevin and Kagome looked at each other, nodded, and then leaped through also.

The group arrived in Kevin’s basement.
“What time is it, Kevin?” Kagome asked.
“About ten to eight. It’s Saturday. Everyone else should be waking up soon.” Kevin said.
“Everyone else?” Sango asked.
“The rest of my family. Actually, my mom likes to get up early.” Kevin said. Suddenly, Kevin sensed danger.
“What’s up Kevin?” Inuyasha asked.
“Get down!” Kevin yelled. Everyone dropped to the floor. An explosion ripped through the basement. Several shelves were damaged, but the wall portal was destroyed. The basement was on fire.
“Oh no! My house’ll burn down!” Kevin said.
“Miroku! Use your Wind Tunnel to put out the fire!” Shippo said.
“Good idea!” Miroku said. He unleashed his Wind Tunnel. The basement fire was sucked inside and the house was saved.
“Geez, is everyone okay?” Kevin asked.
“I’m all right.” Kagome said.
“Everything’s okay here.” Shippo said.
“I guess no one got hurt.” Miroku said.
“I’m fine.” Sango said. Kilala meowed to answer.
“Well, I’m glad that’s over.” Kevin said.
“Oh man, look at the wall.” Inuyasha said.
“Great, looks like we’re stuck here.” Shippo said.
“Not necessarily. If the wall could be repaired, then the portal may reopen.” Miroku said. The door at the top of the stairs opened.
“Oh no! It’s my mom! Everyone hide!” Kevin said. The rest of the group hid behind the various shelves. “Not you, Kagome.” Kevin said. Kagome walked up next to Kevin. Kevin’s mom walked down into the basement.
“What’s going on down here?” Kevin’s mom asked.
“Uh, nothing, mom.” Kevin said.
“Wait a minute. Kagome! You’re here!” Kevin’s mom ran up and gave here a hug.
“It’s nice to see you Aunt Jinmei.” Kagome said.
“I guess the arthritis must have cleared up.”
“Yeah, it did.” Kagome said.
“Well, you must have just gotten here. Kevin, would you help Kagome unpack her things? I have to go get ready.” Kevin’s mom walked back up the stairs.
“Why didn’t she hear....” Kagome started.
“Be glad she sleeps with earplugs.” Kevin said. Kevin then noticed a soccer ball on the ground. “Awesome, I thought I lost this.” Kevin kicked the soccer ball toward the wall. The ball hit the wall and exploded in white smoke. Shippo then fell onto the ground.
“Ouch.” He groaned.
“Sorry, Shippo. I didn’t know it was you.” Kevin said.
“That’s probably something I should have told you. Shippo specializes in illusionary magic and he can transform himself into various shapes.” Kagome said. Inuyasha, Miroku, and Sango came out from behind the shelves.
“So, you guys want some breakfast?” Kevin asked.

Upstairs, Kevin, Kagome, and the rest of Kevin’s family was having breakfast.
“So, Kagome, what have you been doing lately?” Kevin’s dad asked.
“Oh, just doing homework. You know how hard it is dealing with schoolwork, it can be a real demon sometimes.” Kagome said. Kevin was trying not to laugh. He then picked up his plate and went into the kitchen. He was actually giving it to Shippo.
“Thanks, Kevin.” Shippo said.
“No problem. Sorry about having you guys hiding in my room, but I think my parents might be a little freaked out by the fact that there’s a portal to another world in our basement and that two people and two demons came through it.” Kevin said.
“Actually, you should make that three. Technically, you are a demon now.” Shippo said.
“Yeah, but I’m not sure I’m going to be able to tell them. What do I do, Shippo?” Kevin asked.
“It’s your choice, but I think you should just tell the truth.” Shippo said. “Oh, by the way, Inuyasha wants another plate of food.”
“You’re kidding me, he’s had three already.” Kevin said.
“I know. But I’m just telling you what he said.” Shippo said. Shippo walked off. Kevin walked back into the dining room. He sat down at the table.
“Kevin, you’ve had about seven plates of food now. Are you feeling alright?” His mom asked.
“Uh, yeah. The food at the paint ball camp was terrible, so I didn’t eat much.” Kevin said. Kevin looked back at the kitchen and noticed that Inuyasha was in there. Kagome noticed him and looked at Kevin.
“What’s wrong, Kevin?” His dad asked.
“Uh, I think I’m gonna’ go see if there’s any food left.” Kevin got up and walked into kitchen.
“Something’s going on with him.” Kevin’s dad said.
“Yeah.” Kevin’s sister said.
“What the hell are you doing?” Kevin asked Inuyasha in a quick whisper.
“Getting some food, what’s it look like?” Inuyasha asked.
“You’re gonna’ blow our cover. And besides, I think you’ve had enough anyway.” Kevin said.
“Hey, I have a big appetite, is it really my fault?” Inuyasha asked.
“Uh, yeah.” Kevin said. “Now get back up there or you won’t get a treat later.” Kevin jokingly said.
“Hey, was that a dog joke?” Inuyasha asked.
“Uh oh.” Kevin said. Inuyasha started walking toward Kevin.
“I told you I hate dog jokes.” Inuyasha said.
“Hey, chill out. I was just kidding.” Kevin said. Inuyasha then leaped forward and tackled Kevin. Kevin threw Inuyasha off of him and got back up. The two of them then grappled with each other.
“Kevin, are you alright? I heard a crash.” Kevin’s mom asked.
“I’m okay, there’s a stray dog that just came in and I’m trying to get it out. Don’t come in, I’m fine.” Kevin said.
“Oh, okay.” His mom sat back down. Kevin let go of Inuyasha.
“Come on, man, this isn’t helping anyone.” Kevin said.
“I know it ain’t!” Inuyasha charged again. This time, Kevin reeled his fist up and slammed Inuyasha right in the stomach. The half-demon fell to the ground in pain.
“Gonna’ stop now?” Kevin asked.
“Ugh, I didn’t think you could punch that hard. All right, you’re toast!” Inuyasha took a swipe at Kevin with his right claw. Kevin back flipped out of the way. He then remembered about the necklace around Inuyasha’s neck. If Kagome could paralyze him with the “Sit Boy” command, then maybe he could too.
“Sit, boy!” Kevin yelled. The necklace glowed and Inuyasha slammed into the ground.
“Hey, stop that!” Inuyasha got back up and started coming toward Kevin again.
“Sit, boy!” Kevin yelled again. Inuyasha once again slammed into the ground.
“Knock it off!” Inuyasha got up again. Kevin realized the “Sit” command wasn’t working, so he tried one last ditch effort. Kevin stuck out his hand and started scratching Inuyasha behind his ears. Inuyasha stopped where he was and closed his eyes in a relaxed state.
“Oh, yeah. That feels good.” He said. Kevin kept scratching. Kagome then walked into the kitchen.
“What happened?” She asked.
“I made a lame dog joke and he went nuts on me. I tried the “Sit” command twice and he still kept coming. This is the only way I was able to stop him.” Kevin said.
“Well, let me take him upstairs. Here, I’ll keep scratching his ears.” Kagome traded with Kevin and led Inuyasha upstairs to the door to Kevin’s room.
“Oh, yes. That really feels good. Keep doing that, Kevin.” Inuyasha said. Kagome then took her hand off his head and slapped him in the face. Inuyasha put his hand over his face “Ow, what was that about?!” He yelled. Kagome then slapped him again. “Darn it, would you stop hitting me?!”
“You need to stop being such a jerk all the time!” Kagome yelled.
“Me? I’m not the one who’s getting attacked here!” Inuyasha said.
“Kevin is only kidding when he makes dog jokes. You have to stop letting things get under your skin so easily!” Kagome said.
“Under my skin? Hey, I really don’t like it when you tell me how to run my life. You always do that to me! You are one of the most annoying and self strong people I’ve ever met!” Inuyasha yelled. He then closed his eyes and the two of them kissed. “But I forgot that’s why I love you so much.” Inuyasha said in a much calmer voice.
“Same here.” Kagome said.
“I’m sorry, Kagome. It’s just that I’ve been obsessing over this whole blood thing.”
“What blood thing?”
“I mean just the fact that I can turn people into demons just if my blood gets into their veins.”
“Well, why would you worry about it?”
“What if you get hurt in battle sometime? I could get my blood on you, and then you would be in the same position as Kevin. I don’t want to hurt you.”
“You won’t. Now stop worrying about it.”
“I guess you’re right.”

Later that night, Howard was at his apartment. He was looking at a TV screen. A football game was going on.
“I hope nobody got hurt. Why did I do it? It was wrong.” He said.
“There’s nothing wrong with payback.” A voice came from behind his couch. Howard jumped up and noticed Naraku standing next to the window.
“Ahhhhh! How did you get in here?” Howard asked.
“I can be anywhere, at anytime.” Naraku said. Naraku took the hood of his baboon skin off. His face was pale and he had long, messy, black hair. He began walking toward Howard. Howard backed away.
“Please don’t hurt me.” Howard asked.
“I have no intention of hurting you. I have a task for you to complete tomorrow. Be ready.” Naraku said. Suddenly, Howard collapsed to his knees. He put his hand on his mouth and then threw up on the ground with white liquid. The liquid turned into a green-skinned creature with red eyes.

Back at Kevin’s house, the group was going over a battle plan to deal with Naraku. They were also discussing how the wall was destroyed.
“Okay, do you know anyone who might want to blow up your house or something?” Kagome asked Kevin.
“No way. It had to have been Naraku.” Kevin said.
“I highly doubt it. I never sensed Naraku’s presence or trail in your house.” Inuyasha said.
“So it couldn’t have been him then.” Miroku said.
“However, I did detect the scent of manure and another scent I didn’t recognize in the basement after the explosion.” Inuyasha said.
“Wait a second. Manure, hmmmm, what was the other smell like?” Kevin asked.
“I don’t know, but I think I may have smelt it once before while in the human world. It was at a place with a lot of cars.” Inuyasha said.
“This isn’t helping us.” Sango said.
“Yeah it is. The smell of manure and gasoline. It was a bomb!” Kevin yelled.
“Okay, but how does that help us figure out who blew up your portal?” Shippo asked.
“Our gardener, Howard, works with fertilizer, which is also manure, and anyone has access to gasoline. It couldn’t have been him though, never mind.” Kevin said.
“Kevin, do you know where he lives?” Kagome asked.
“Okay, we’ll go tomorrow morning and ask him some questions, but I’m telling you guys now there is no way Howard would do anything like this.” Kevin said.
“I’m not sure about that. Naraku can manipulate humans very easily.” Sango said.
“Which is why we should be on our guard when we go to his residence tomorrow.” Miroku said.

The next morning, Kevin and Kagome woke up at 9:00 a.m. They were going to go to Howard’s apartment to talk to him about the portal. The two of them went down into the kitchen.
“Morning, Kevin.” His mom said.
“Morning, mom. Where’s dad and Lucy?” Kevin said.
“Lucy had a ballet performance today. Since I know you don’t want to go, I have something for you.” His mom gave him a list.
“Oh no, a chore list. Is there a way I could do one today and the rest over the course of several weeks?” Kevin said.
“Sorry, you have to do all of them today.” His mom said.
“But, mom. I was planning to go out today.” Kevin said.
“You’ll have time to go out today, after you finish those chores. Now, I’m going to catch up with your father for the performance, I want all of these chores done by the time I get home tonight.” His mom then walked out the back door of their house.
“Great. Now what I am supposed to do?” Kevin asked.
Kagome looked at the list, “Hmmmm, take out the trash, clean the rain gutters, trim the hedges, wash the car, do the dishes, these are a lot of chores.” Kagome said.
“Looks like you guys are going to have to go without me.” Kevin said.
“But you’re the only one who knows where Howard lives.” Kagome said. The rest of the group then came down.
“Kevin, I heard about your problem and I humbly offer my services to you in completing your tasks.” Miroku said.
“Thanks, Miroku.” Kevin said.
“I would also like for the lovely Sango to assist me in these chores.” Miroku moved over behind Sango.
“I’ll help out too.” Sango said. She backhanded Miroku, causing him to fall on the ground.
“Oh yes! It’s worth the pain!” Miroku said.
“Okay, how about this?” Sango brought her foot down onto his face.
“Ouch.” Miroku said.
“Now that the little problem is taken care of, let’s go. I wanna’ find Naraku by nightfall.” Inuyasha walked out the door.
“Okay, let’s go.” Kagome followed him.
“Right, thanks again, Miroku, you too, Sango.” Kevin said. He went out too.
“We’ll be back in a few hours!” Shippo said. Shippo followed Kevin.
“Okay, let’s get to work.” Sango said.
“Right on.” Miroku said in a slow, achy tone.

In the city, Kagome, Kevin, and Inuyasha were on their way to Howard’s apartment, but they had to make a detour because they had lost Shippo.
“Darn it, where did that fox go?” Inuyasha asked.
“I hope he’s all right.” Kagome said.
“Would you two stop worrying? I’ll bet he probably got lost and is looking for us. Besides, he knows where I live. He’ll most likely go back there.” Kevin said.
“I guess you’re right.” Kagome said.
“Yeah, besides I want to catch that gardener and throttle him.” Inuyasha said.
“Hey, there will be no throttling until we no for sure.” Kevin said. He and Kagome kept walking while Inuyasha walked into a nearby alley. The alley was dark and had dumpsters and trash in it.
“Maybe Shippo went in here.” Inuyasha said. Suddenly, several men came out from behind the dumpstars. One of them, who was dark skinned and was wearing a blue tank-top with shorts and sneakers, came up to him.
“Hey, what’s up, dog?” He asked. Inuyasha stared at the man.
“Doesn’t seem very talkative.” Another man said.
“Look, dog, you better hand over that bling bling before we mess you up.” The man in front of Inuyasha said.
“What is this “bling bling” you’re talking about?” Inuyasha asked.
“We want your necklace, that’s what.”
“Sorry, I couldn’t give it to you even if I wanted too. I can’t get it off.” Inuyasha tried to pull his necklace off, but it only glowed and remained in place.
“Nice magic trick. Grab his shoes too, Leon. I could use a new pair o’ kicks.” One of the other men said to the man in front of Inuyasha.
Leon turned around, “He aint’’ wearin’ shoes you dummy!” Inuyasha tapped Leon on the shoulder. “What?” Inuyasha punched Leon in the face, sending him flying across the alley.
“Hey! Nobody attacks our boss!” Another man pulled out a handgun and started shooting. Inuyasha dodged all of the bullets and rushed forward. He grabbed the gun and broke it in half. The rest of the men ran toward Inuyasha and tried to attack, but Inuyasha took them out with a few punches and kicks. He then walked out of the alley, meeting up with Kagome and Kevin again.
“Where’d you go?” Kevin asked.
“I had to fight off some people who were psychics.” Inuyasha said. The three of them then continued toward Howard’s apartment.

Back at Kevin’s house, Sango and Miroku were working on the chores. Miroku was using his wind tunnel to clean the gutters out, although he had accidentally sucked one of them in. Miroku had also taken out the garbage, and cleaned the car. Sango had cleaned the dishes and trimmed the hedges.
“Miroku, are you done yet?” Sango asked. She was down in the backyard practicing with a sword.
“Almost.” Miroku said. He finished the last rain gutter. Sango then took another swipe with her sword, but she dropped it on the ground. Sango bent down to pick it up. Miroku stared at her butt and ended up falling off the roof. Sango turned around and looked for him.
“Miroku? Where are you?” Sango asked. He climbed out of some bushes with sticks and leaves in his hair.
“Boy that was worth the pain.” Miroku said.

Shippo was wandering around San Diego, looking for Inuyasha, Kevin, and Kagome.
“Oh, where did they go?” Shippo asked himself. Shippo looked around some sidewalks and buildings. Eventually, he found a building that read “New Drop Apartments.”
“Apartment! This must be where they were going. Okay, I’ll just wait in here for them.” Shippo jumped up and opened the door to the lobby. Inside, he noticed another boy sitting on one of the couches. The manager at the desk had taken his break for the day. Meanwhile, the three others came around the corner of the building.
“So, this is it?” Inuyasha asked.
“Yep, this is Howard’s apartment building.” Kevin said.
“We have apartments everywhere in Tokyo. Most people live in them.” Kagome said.
“They’re not as prominent here, but they’re okay for people who can’t afford their own houses.” Kevin said. He looked up at the building. “Maybe mom and dad denied him that raise. He was looking forward to getting it.”
“Huh? What are you talking about?” Kagome asked.
“Howard wanted a raise in his payment. Never mind, let’s go inside.” Kevin said. He walked toward the door.
“Something’s going on with him.” Inuyasha said to Kagome.
“I know, but what is it?” Kagome asked. They followed Kevin toward the door, but before they could go in, Kevin’s friend Jake came up to them.
“Hey, Kevin. How’s it going?” Jake asked.
“Jake, I didn’t know you were here.” Kevin said. The two of them gave each other a high five.
“Yeah, I was just goin’ around town and I noticed you and decided to come over and talk.” Jake said. He noticed Kagome and Inuyasha. “Hey, who are your friends?”
Kevin turned to Inuyasha and Kagome, “Guys, this is my friend Jake Amester,” Kevin turned back to Jake, “This is my cousin Kagome and her, uh, other friend.”
“Cool, what’s his name?” Jake asked.
“It’s uh,” Kevin looked inside the hotel lobby and glanced at the clerk, whose name tag read “Bob.” “His name’s Bob.”
“Bob? Kind of an odd name for a Japanese guy.” Jake walked over to Inuyasha, who had his arms crossed in front of his chest and stared at Jake.
“Yeah, I think it is too.” Inuyasha glanced over at Kevin. Kevin shrugged his shoulders.
“Pretty interesting outfit you got there.”
“Uh, he likes cosplaying.” Kevin said.
“Sweet.” Jake looked at his watch. “Geez, I gotta’ get going. It was nice meeting you, Kagome, and, uh, Bob. See ya’ later.”
“Not if I see you first.” Kevin said.
“Better grab the binoculars.” Jake said.
“Bye, Jake.” Kagome said.
“Nice meeting you.” Inuyasha said. Jake walked away. “Nice guy.”
“Yeah, he’s been my best friend since 3rd grade.” Kevin said.
“Anyway, let’s head inside.” Kagome said. The three of them entered the lobby and looked around. Kevin noticed the elevator.
“That elevator should take us up to Howard’s floor.” Kevin said.
“Okay, let’s go.” Kagome said.
“Wait a second.” Inuyasha drew the Tetsuiga. “Okay, I’m ready.”
“Just watch where you’re swinging, okay?” Kevin asked. They walked toward the elevator, only to find that Jake was waiting for them next to it.
“Hey, Kev, wasssup?” He asked.
“Uh, hi Jake. Didn’t I just see you outside?” Kevin asked.
“Naw, I was in here. Musta’ been an impostor.” Jake said.
“Well, I’m busy. So I need to get up to the elevator. See ya later.” Kevin said.
“Sure, okay.” Jake said.
“That’s what I thought!” Kevin grabbed Jake and slammed him into the central pillar in the lobby, holding him there.
“Yo, Kevin, what’s your problem, man?” Jake asked.
“Kevin, what’s gotten into you?” Kagome asked.
“Everytime me and Jake say goodbye, one of us says “See ya later”, then the other says “Not if I see you first”, then finally “Better get the binoculars!” This guy is a fake!” Kevin yelled.
“I’m no fake, I came in through the back door.” Jake said.
“That’s not true! He’s been in here the entire time you were outside!” Shippo ran up to them.
“Shippo?” Kagome asked.
“Shut up you little rat!” Jake said in a demonic voice. He charged toward Shippo, but Kevin grabbed him and threw him across the room into a wall. He fell, but got back up.
“Okay! Prepare to die!” Jake transformed into a green skinned, red-eyed monster.
“Oh man.” Kevin said.
“What is that thing?” Shippo asked.
“A Mimic, demons that can mimic human form. Nasty little bastards.” Inuyasha said.
“It doesn’t look very happy.” Kagome said. The Mimic roared at them before charging forward. Kevin ran forward and slammed into it. The Mimic fell to ground.
“Ouch, that must have hurt.” Kagome said.
“I’ll help you guys! Multiply spell!” Shippo yelled. He spawned about 5 clones of himself and they started running around the Mimic. It lunged at them, trying to destroy them.
“Get him, Inuyasha!” Kevin yelled.
“No problem!” Inuyasha rushed forward and slashed the Mimic twice. Kevin jumped up and kicked it in the head. It fell apart into dust.
“Well, so much for a quiet entrance.” Kagome said. Suddenly, the door opened and the real Jake ran in.
“I heard some noise in here, what’s going on?” He asked.
“Nothing, the elevator just got stuck.” Kevin said.
“Oh, all right. Hey, if you’re going to see your gardener, be careful. There’s some guy wearing a white monkey suit in there. I saw him in the window.” Jake said.
“Naraku!” Inuyasha yelled. He ran into the open elevator door. Kagome, Kevin, and Shippo followed him.
“We’ll check it out, see ya later, Jake.” Kevin said.
“Not if I see you first.” Jake said.
“Better get the binoculars.” Kevin said as the elevator doors closed.

The group came up to the floor with Howard’s apartment on it. Inuyasha and Kevin darted out of the doors and ran up next to Howard’s door. Both of them had their backs to the wall. Kagome and Shippo waited next to the elevator.
“Ready, Kevin?” Inuyasha asked. He readied the Tetsuiga to strike.
“Ready.” Kevin stabbed himself in the shoulder with his claws and got blood on them. Kevin kicked down the door and both of them used their attacks.
“Dragon Twister!” Inuyasha fired a twister out of the Tetsuiga.
“Blades of Blood!” Kevin threw the red blades out of his hands. Both of the attacks flew through the apartment, destroying every object. Eventually, Kevin and Inuyasha stopped. The apartment looked like a tornado had come through it.
“It’s clear!” Inuyasha said.
“Um, I don’t think he’s in there.” Kevin said. Kagome and Shippo walked up to them.
“Do you two have to overdo everything?” Kagome asked. She walked into the apartment.
“Nice move.” Kevin said to Inuyasha.
“Me? You’re the one who was flinging those blades everywhere.” Inuyasha sheathed Tetsuiga.
“Hey, at least I didn’t do as much damage. You turned this place into Kansas.” Kevin walked into the apartment.
“Yeah, whatever, and what the heck is Kansas?” Inuyasha also walked into the apartment.
“Doesn’t look like anyone’s here.” Shippo said.
“Grrrr, I can smell him. Naraku’s been here.” Inuyasha said.
“Calm down, man.” Kevin said.
“For some reason I can sense the presence of a shard of the Shikon Jewel.” Kagome said.
“Naraku is here, where is it?” Inuyasha asked. He was looking around the apartment.
“I said chill out.” Kevin said.
“Okay.” Inuyasha said. Suddenly, a noise came from a room in the back.
“There he is!” Inuyasha charged toward the room. He thrust his claw through the door. Inuyasha opened the door and looked inside. There was no one inside the room, but the window was open. Kevin walked forward and looked out the window. Howard was inching his way across the ledge.
“Hey, what are you doing?” Kevin yelled.
Howard whipped his head toward Kevin and made eye contact.
“You’ll never take me alive, coppers!” He jumped off the side of the building and landed in the alley below. He landed on his feet and started running.
“What the hell?” Inuyasha asked.
“He’s getting away!” Kevin yelled.
“Oh no he’s not!” Inuyasha leaped out of the window and started jumping across the roofs.
“Wait up, Inuyasha!” Kevin leaped out of the window and landed on the roof next to the apartment. Kevin then turned around and looked at the window. “Dude! I can jump across buildings! This rocks!” Kevin jumped across the street and onto another building. Kagome and Shippo made their way out of the apartment and joined the chase after Howard.

After about 10 minutes, Howard had thought he’d finally lost them.
“Naraku. I have to find Naraku, so he can help me.” Howard said. Suddenly, he heard a noise above him. He looked up and saw Kevin jump over the alleyway he was hiding in. “Whew, I’m still okay.” However, he didn’t notice Inuyasha come down from above and land on top of him. The two of them struggled for a moment before Howard threw Inuyasha off of him and into the side of wall. Inuyasha fell into a garbage can, but recovered and charged toward Howard. Howard dodged his charge and ran out of the alley.
“Get back here!” Inuyasha prepared to draw the Tetsuiga as he was running after Howard, but then he remembered what Kevin said. “Damn it.” Howard ran down the street, pushing his way past several people.
“Naraku! Naraku! Help me!” Howard yelled. Inuyasha then ran toward him. Suddenly, Howard started glowing and disappeared.
“Where did he go?” Inuyasha looked around. Kevin then jumped off a building and landed next to Inuyasha.
“Find him?” Kevin asked.
“No, he just disappeared. Naraku probably bailed him out.” Inuyasha said. Kagome and Shippo then came.
“Did you get him?” Shippo asked.
“No, he got away.” Inuyasha said.
Kagome then put her hand over her nose, “Yuck! What happened to you, Inuyasha?”
“Yeah, dude, you smell terrible.” Kevin said.
“I fell into a garbage can! What’d you think I’d smell like, roses?!” Inuyasha yelled.
“Oh, no! It’s almost time for my parents to get home!” Kevin yelled.
“Don’t worry, Kevin. We’ll take the subway and get back in time.” Kagome said.
“Good. I need to get back so I can wash my kimono.” Inuyasha said. The group walked toward the entrance to a subway.

Back at Kevin’s house, Miroku and Sango were relaxing after completing their chores. Sango had brewed some tea and they were waiting for the rest of the group to come back.
“This is extremely good tea, Sango. Good job.” Miroku said.
“Well, those tea bags they had in the cupboard didn’t work very well. That paper soaks up too much water and makes the tea taste really weak.” Sango said.
“Yeah. I can’t figure out why people in modern times like really weak tea.” Miroku said.
“I was brewing some more, I’m going to go check on it.” Sango got up and walked into the kitchen. Kilala was sleeping on the counter.
“Must be pretty tired.” Sango opened a tea pot and looked in it. “I guess it’s not done yet.” Kilala then sat up and growled. Sango turned around and noticed Miroku standing in the doorway.
“What’s wrong?” He asked.
“Nothing, you just scared me.” Sango said. Miroku walked behind her. He seemed to be fixated on Kilala.
“So, it’s pretty weird the way demons keep attacking. They could be anywhere at any time.” Miroku said.
“Yeah, too bad there are demon slayers everywhere.” Sango said. She reached into a sheath and pulled out her sword.
“Yeah, that is a really bad thing. Someone should do something about it.” Miroku turned around, but Sango charged forward and stabbed him in the chest with the sword. Miroku turned into a Mimic and fell on the ground. The demon twitched a few times before turning into dust.
“Good job, Kilala.” Sango said. Kilala meowed. “I had gotten suspicious when he passed behind me and didn’t try anything.” Sango put her sword away and walked into the living room. Miroku wasn’t on the couch. “Miroku? Miroku? Where are you?” Sango looked around the room, but Miroku wasn’t anywhere to be found. However, Sango noticed that the door to a closet was open slightly. She walked over to it and opened the door. Miroku was covered in green slime and stuck to the wall. A white gag was wrapped around his mouth and his hands were tied with rope.
“Kilala, be ready. Naraku is up to something.” Sango said.

It was about 5:00 p.m. now. Inuyasha, Kevin, Kagome, and Shippo were on their way back to the house. They were traveling on the subway. Several people were looking at them. Inuyasha (who was laying down on his back in the seat) noticed them.
“What? Haven’t you ever seen a guy with dog ears before?” He asked. The people then quit staring. Kevin and Kagome were sitting in the seat in front of them. Kevin was looking at a paper.
“Ouch.” Kevin put his hand on his face.
“What’s wrong?” Kagome asked.
“My mouth is still a little sore from those fangs coming in.”
“It only hurts for a few days, you’ll be fine.” Inuyasha said.
“What’s that piece of paper for?” Shippo asked.
“I’m doing a project on how the moon affects tide patterns. I’m looking at this tide chart to help me out.” Kevin said. He looked back at the paper.
“That’s pretty interesting.” Kagome said.
“Yeah. I’m gonna’ have to pay extra attention tonight because there’s going to be a new moon tonight and I want to see how that affects the tides.” Kevin said. Inuyasha got up and frantically tried to grab for the tide chart.
“Let me see that thing!” He yelled.
“Hey, chill out! Give me a second!” Kevin gave the chart to Inuyasha. “Geez, what’s wrong with you? Are you afraid of the dark and want to be sure that there’s as much light as possible?”
“It’s more complicated than that.” Inuyasha said.
“Try me.” Kevin said.
“You see, Kevin, because Inuyasha is only half demon, he loses his demon powers and becomes human whenever there’s a new moon.” Kagome said.
“And If Naraku attacks tonight, me and Kevin will be the only demons who can fight.” Shippo said.
“Provided that Kevin doesn’t lose his powers when the moon rises tonight.” Kagome said.
“We’re almost there.” Kevin said.

The group finally arrived at Kevin’s house. It was now about 6:00 p.m and the sun was starting to go down.
“My parents are going to be home soon.” Kevin said.
“It’s good to be back at a place where we know we’re safe.” Shippo said. Just as Inuyasha walked in the door, he sensed someone coming toward him from the side. Inuyasha then noticed a sword coming down. He caught it between his hands. He noticed that Sango was the one with the sword.
“Sango! What the heck is wrong with you?” Inuyasha asked. Kagome, Kevin, and Shippo came inside and closed the door.
“You know my name, but is that the only thing?” Sango asked.
“Sango, what the hell are you talking about?” Kevin asked.
“Stay back! I’ll kill you all if I have to!” Sango yelled.
“Put your sword away.” Kagome said.
“Sheesh, you’re acting just like when Naraku tricked you into fighting me.” Inuyasha said. Sango pulled her sword back and put it away.
“I...I’m sorry. I didn’t think it was you.” She said.
“Why in the hell wouldn’t it be us?” Inuyasha asked.
“A demon disguised itself as Miroku and came into here. I was worried that you were actually more of them.” Sango said.
“Mimics again.” Shippo said.
“Well, we’re the real thing. No need to worry.” Kagome said.
“Wait a second, where’s Miroku?” Kevin asked.
“Over here.” Sango opened the closet door. Miroku was still stuck in the slime. “I found him like this. That Mimic must have snuck up behind him and trapped him inside.”
“If this was a few hours ago, why didn’t you get him out?” Kagome asked.
“I did, but he tried to grab my ass again, so I decided to leave him in there for a little while.” Sango said.
“Why am I not surprised?” Inuyasha asked.
“Boy, this guy sure has a thing for female booty.” Kevin said.
“Are we going to get him out?” Shippo asked. Miroku started mumbling underneath the gag. It sounded like he was asking to be let out.
“Nah, let’s leave him in there.” Inuyasha said. Miroku then got an angry look on his face and started yelling angrily under the gag. “Hey! Watch your damn language!” Inuyasha said.
“Fine, I’ll get him out.” Kevin walked into the closet. He crossed his arms and looked at Miroku. “Maybe this will teach you not get more ass than a toilet seat. Hold still.” Kevin used his claws to cut the gag off.
“I am grateful, Kevin.” Miroku said.
“No problem.” Kevin got the rest of the slime off of Miroku. The two of them walked out of the closet. Suddenly, the back door flew off the hinges and two Mimics burst into the living room.
“Hirakeitsou!” Sango threw her wooden boomerang at the monsters. She hit one, slicing it in half and causing some damage to the furniture in the process.
“Time for a flight!” Kevin rolled behind another Mimic and punched it, sending it flying through the window.

“That was a very nice recital.” Kevin’s mom said. They had just pulled into the driveway.
“Yes, very good.” Kevin’s dad said. Suddenly, they saw the Mimic. fly through the front window.
“Who’s that?” Kevin’s sister asked. The Mimic then got up and growled at them. Kevin then leapt out of the window and landed next to the Mimic.
“Do you ever give up?” He asked.
“Kevin, what’s going on?” His mom asked. The rest of the group came out.
“Why is there a strange monster flying out of our window? And, why does it look like Kagome brought friends?” His mom asked.
“Uh. Okay, guys, there’s something I need to tell you. There is a portal to feudal Japan in the basement. I wasn’t at paint ball camp. I was pulled through the portal and met Kagome there. I fought against demons and then accidentally had demon blood transferred into my body. I am now part demon and here trying to stop a crazy, megalomaniac in a monkey costume from taking over this world.” Kevin said very quickly. His family stared at him with a confused look.
“Who are they?” Kevin’s sister asked.
“That’s Shippo, Miroku, Sango, Kilala, and Inuyasha. They’re all helping me and Kagome.” Kevin pointed out the rest of the group.
“Filthy humans! You will all be destroyed!” Kevin kicked the Mimic and knocked him out. Suddenly, a car pulled up next to the house. Howard got out. He started walking toward them.
“Howard, what are you doing here?” Kevin’s dad asked. Howard walked up to him and grabbed him by the neck, lifting him into the air.
“Let him go!” Kevin charged forward and kicked Howard in the head. Howard dropped Kevin’s dad, but quickly got back up.
“Honey, are you okay?” Kevin’s mom asked.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” Kevin’s dad said. Inuyasha rushed over to help.
“Does your neck hurt?” He asked.
“A little.”
“Okay, you three better get inside. It’s gonna’ get pretty bad out here.” Inuyasha said. Kevin’s family ran inside.
“Kevin, I hope that you are prepared to fight with him.” Miroku said.
“I am.” Kevin said. The rest of the group got ready to fight.
“Okay, Mr. Gardiner, time for a little trim!” Inuyasha drew the Tetsuiga.
“Hold up, a sec’, Inuyasha.” Kevin walked forward and yelled, “Howard! What’s wrong with you?”
“Your family has screwed with me for the last time! I’m glad Naraku opened my eyes finally!” Howard yelled.
“He didn’t open your eyes to anything! We’ve always treated you good. You weren’t just an employee, you were a member of our family.” Kevin said.
“You’re lying!” Howard yelled.
“We’re not getting through to him, Kevin! We’ll have to fight!” Inuyasha drew the Tetsuiga.
“Howard, think back. Remember a few years ago. I was six years old. We had all gone up to a forest to have a picnic. We had just hired you. I was playing near a river when I fell in. I was drowning because I couldn’t swim. I remember mom screaming and dad yelling. Then, you dove in and pulled me out. Howard, I would have died if you wouldn’t have saved me.” Kevin said. Kevin walked toward Howard.
“Kevin! Be careful!” Inuyasha yelled. Kagome notched an arrow into her bow and Sango got her boomerang ready.
“I...I...I’m sorry.” Howard kneeled down and he and Kevin hugged each other.
“I forgive you.” Kevin said. However, the door of the car opened and Naraku stepped out.
“You’re not done yet.” Naraku said. He took another shard of the sacred jewel and threw it at Howard. The jewel stuck in Howard’s back. Howard screamed in pain and then picked Kevin up. Naraku opened a portal and Howard threw Kevin into it. Naraku closed the portal soon after Kevin disappeared.
“Kevin!” Kagome yelled.
“That’s it! You’re dead!” Inuyasha charged forward. “Tetsuiga!” He swung the sword at Howard, but Howard dodged out of the way. He then transformed into a monster that looked like a larger version of the Mimics.
“Destroy them while I go to announce my rulership of this world to the humans.” Naraku walked off and began heading toward central San Diego. Howard put out his hand and it started spitting out more mimics that came toward the group.
“This isn’t good!” Shippo yelled.
“Grrrr, come and get some!” Inuyasha yelled.

Meanwhile, Kevin was traveling through the portal. Eventually, he came out the portal and fell out of the sky. Kevin slammed into the ground. He was unhurt, but he looked up and noticed that he was back in Feudal Japan. It was night there.
“Perfect, what am I supposed to do now?” Kevin asked. An arrow then flew through the air and hit the tree next to him. Kikyo walked out of some bushes. “Oh, no.” Kikyo charged forward and swung her bow at Kevin. Kevin dodged the bow and ducked out of the way. “Kikyo! I do not want to fight you. I thought we had worked this out!” Kikyo fired another arrow at him, but Kevin caught it. He ran forward and tried to attack, but Kikyo grabbed him and threw him on the ground behind her. “You’re really starting to piss me off! Do you wanna’ die or something?” Suddenly, another human rushed forward and stabbed Kikyo in the chest with his hand. She transformed into another Mimic and collapsed on the ground. The person looked at the body and said in a low voice, “Damn Mimics.” He turned around and looked at Kevin. However, it had become clear to Kevin that he wasn’t a human. He had long, silver hair. It was similar to Inuyasha’s, but it looked more well groomed. There was a moon symbol on his forehead and red lines on the sides of his face. He had pointy ears on the sides of his head. He was also dressed in very nice clothing. Kevin also noticed he had two swords with him. One of them was in a sheath, while the other wasn’t. The demon stared at Kevin with a haunting look. “Are you okay?” He asked. Kevin then remembered what Inuyasha had said about his brother.
“You’re Sesshomaru. Inuyasha’s older brother.” Kevin said. Sesshomaru started walking toward Kevin.
“How do you know my brother?” He asked.
“Back off!” Kevin got up and took a slash at Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru instantly dodged out of the way and moved behind Kevin. Kevin dodged a claw swipe from Sesshomaru and blocked several punches before trying some of his own. Sesshomaru eventually got tired of the fight. He grabbed Kevin with one hand and threw him into the ground.
“Quite strong for a puny human.” Sesshomaru said. He moved over to Kevin again.
“If you’re gonna’ kill me, then go ahead. I guess the present is going to fall to Naraku.” Kevin looked at the ground. Sesshomaru stopped in place. There was silence for a moment before Sesshomaru spoke again.
“I have no intention of killing you. I merely want to know what knowledge you have.” Sesshomaru put his hand out. Kevin realized what was going on and let Sesshomaru help him up.
“Okay. I’m just a kid from the present realm who got transported here. I met up with Inuyasha and the rest of those guys. We got into a fight with some demons and some of Inuyasha’s blood got into a wound I had.” Kevin said.
“Ah, yes. You have become a Transfusion.” Sesshomaru said.
“A what? I thought I was just a human with demon powers.”
“Was that what that little parasite Myoga told you?”
“Yeah. That’s what it was.”
“Though he is correct, it is much more complicated than that. Transfusions are the rarest types of demons, yet they are also the most powerful. You have great potential. You must try to harness your power.”
“Uh, okay. Anyway, Inuyasha, me and the others went through the portal I used to get here, but it was destroyed. Naraku is in the present, and they’re in trouble. I have to get back.” Kevin said.
“I can show you another way to get to the present, but on one condition.” Sesshomaru said.
“What’s that?” Kevin asked.
“I will come with you. Naraku’s treachery had spread to me at one point and I want revenge against him for what he did. No one double-crosses me.”
“Okay, you can come, but you can’t fight with Inuyasha at all. Even if we beat Naraku.”
“I agree with your proposal. I have no desire to battle against Inuyasha as it is. I have just one thing to do first.” Sesshomaru turned around and walked into the forest. Suddenly, there was a sound of a demon screaming in pain. Sesshomaru walked backed out. He had what looked like the demon’s arm with him. It was black and had three large claws. Sesshomaru took it and attached it to his left shoulder.
I never noticed that, Kevin thought, he only has one arm. He must have to use arms from other demons to fight.
Sesshomaru moved his new limb around, “This shall do.” Kevin then looked behind him and noticed a small, green demon with a large staff and purple kimono coming toward them.
“Lord Sesshomaru,” he said in a high, squeaky voice, “I saw an army of humans going to the south. Would you like to go and slaughter them?”
“Not right now, we are going to the Bone Eater’s Well. Naraku is in the present.” Sesshomaru then turned back to Kevin. “This is my servant. His name is Jakin, feel free to attack him at any time. Let’s go.” Sesshomaru turned around and walked back into the forest. Jakin and Kevin followed him.
“What’s up? Names Kevin.” Kevin said to Jakin.
“I can’t believe this. Lord Sesshomaru doesn’t want to slaughter humans? This must be very important.” Jakin said.
“Yeah, Naraku is involved.”

Eventually, the three of them reached the well. It was wooden and square shaped. Kevin looked in it. He could see bones at the bottom that looked like they had come from a demon.
“This is it.” Sesshomaru said. Kevin looked at the demon arm Seeshomaru had.
“Hey, Sesshomaru. I was wondering, what happened to your arm? You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to.” Kevin asked.
“I lost it in a battle with Inuyasha. He slashed it off with the Tetsuiga. I remember everything that happened. I had transformed into my demon form. We had gone there to our father’s tomb to try and acquire the Tetsuiga, the sword that could kill a hundred demons with one swipe. Inuyasha was the one who got it and he cut my arm off when I tried to attack.”
“That must have really pissed you off.” Kevin said.
“I was angry at first, but I soon realized it was in self-defense.” Sesshomaru said. He looked down the well. “I shall go first.” He then jumped into the well. Jakin freaked out.
“Ahhhhh!!! Wait for me, master!” Jakin leaped in after him. Kevin walked forward and looked down. Both of them had disappeared.
“Okay, here we go.” Kevin got up on the side of the well. He spread his arms and then jumped into the well. As he neared the bottom, he saw the blue background appear around him. After a minute, it disappeared and Kevin found himself in the bottom of the well again. He climbed out using his claws and noticed he was in some kind of shrine.
“Whoa. This must be the temple that Kagome’s told me about.” Kevin said. He then felt someone’s hand on his shoulder. Kevin jumped up on the side of the well and faced the person behind him.
“You’re paranoid.” Sesshomaru said. Jakin was sitting on his shoulder.
“Sorry, you scared me.” Kevin said. “So, how do we get back to San Diego?”
“This is how.” Sesshomaru grabbed Kevin’s wrist and took off into the sky with Kevin as his passenger.
“Whoa! You can fly?” Kevin asked.
“Yes, any demon in my family can learn the power of flight.” Sesshomaru said.

After traveling across the ocean for about 10 minutes, Sesshomaru had finally brought them to San Diego.
“Is this the town where....never mind, I can sense Naraku’s evil presence here.” Sesshomaru said.
“Sesshomaru, you said that any demon in your family can learn how to fly. I’ve seen Inuyasha glide in the air before, but can he fly?” Kevin asked.
“I’m not entirely sure, although I think you can fly if you practice.” Sesshomaru landed on the top of a building and dropped Kevin off. “I’ll scout around and look for Naraku, you find Inuyasha and the others and help them.”
“Okay, be careful.” Kevin said.
“Good luck!” Jakin yelled. Sesshomaru took off into the night sky. Kevin then started running across the building tops. He jumped across each one and eventually reached a building right across from his house.

“Take this!” Inuyasha slashed through a crowd of Mimics. The group was trying to fight the Mimics, but Howard continued to spit them out.
“This is ridiculous!” Miroku knocked a few Mimics away from him with his staff.
“They’re not gonna’ stop coming until we take down the gardener!” Sango destroyed more Mimics with her boomerang. Kilala pounced on another one of them.
“I’m not going to kill him before we get a chance to save him!” Kagome fired an arrow at another Mimic.
“I don’t think we have much of a choice! Fox Fire!” Shippo formed a wall of blue flame around him and knocked the Mimics away.
“Shippo’s right, Kagome. We’re gonna get killed before we even have a chance to stop Naraku.” Inuyasha said. The mimics moved closer.
“Oh, I wish Kevin was here. Where did he go?” Kagome asked. Suddenly, Kevin jumped off the building he was on. Everyone looked up and noticed him. His jacket was flapping in the wind.
“Kevin?” Sango asked.
“Iron Reaver Soul Stealer!” Kevin came down on several Mimics, destroying them with one swipe. Kevin then charged around the yard, slicing through the Mimics. Eventually, he destroyed them all.
“You think that will stop me? I can generate more!” Howard yelled. He prepared to create more Mimics.
“Not if I have anything to say about it! Blades of Blood!” Kevin moved his claw across his arm and threw the red blades out of his hand. One of them cut Howard’s arm and made green blood ooze out of the cut. He grabbed his arm in pain and then ran off toward downtown.
“Kevin! Glad to see you’re alive!” Miroku said. Everyone else also expressed their joy at Kevin’s return.
“Narica just sent me back to feudal Japan, no problem.” Kevin said. Sesshomaru then flew down and landed behind Kevin. Kevin turned to face him.
“Sesshomaru!” Inuyasha prepared to charge forward, but Kevin stopped him.
“It’s okay. He’s on our side. I wouldn’t have gotten back here if it weren’t for him.” Kevin said.
“Kevin, you can’t trust him. He’ll stab you in the back with his claw if he gets the chance!” Inuyasha said.
“Uh, dude. My back is facing him right now, and he isn’t moving. Does that tell you anything?”
“See? He is on our side.” Kagome said.
“Yes, and if I may talk, Narica is in the town square preaching to a crowd of people about his rulership of the world.” Sesshomaru said.
“We’d better get going then.” Maraca said.
“I guess the all powerful demon has finally decided to help us, huh, Sesshomaru?” Inuyasha asked. Sesshomaru walked forward and grabbed Agnosia.
“Listen, little brother, I am not helping you, I am only here for Naraku’s head.” Sesshomaru said.
“Sesshomaru, let him go. Remember our deal?” Kevin asked.
“Hmmm, you are right.” Sesshomaru let go of Agnosia and backed away. “I am not one to go back on my word.”
“So, are we ready?” Kagome asked.
“Let’s go kick Naraku’s ass.” Kevin said. The group then left towards downtown.

In downtown San Diego, a large crowd had gathered to see what Narica had to say. He was on a building overlooking the town square. Because Howard and some of his mimics had appeared in the square, the police had come and barricaded the area. A news van had arrived and a reporter was being filmed by a cameraman.
“This is Sasha Clomoa reporting live from San Diego square. It is now 10:00 p.m. and the new moon will soon be completely in the sky. However, strange creatures have been appearing in the city and a man dressed in a white monkey skin has appeared and is talking to the people that have gathered here. We’ll bring you more on this story as it develops.” The reporter said. Narica then got up on the ledge of the building and started talking.
“Citizens of this city. I, Narica, announce my rulership of this world. It is time for a new age. An age of.....” Narica was interrupted when a voice from the crowd yelled, “New age this, pal!” Narica looked to where the voice had come from. Kevin, Inuyasha, Kagome, Maraca, Shippo, Sango, Kilala, Sesshomaru and Jakin came through the crowd and made their way into the clear center area.
“You again? You all are becoming an annoyance that shall soon be eradicated!” Narica yelled.
“Shut your trap, Narica! You may think you’re big and bad, but you can’t just take what you want! You know, with all these big plans you have for taking over the world, that makes me think about something, are you compensating for something that is a little small in a certain area where it matters?” Kevin asked with a smile. The crowd laughed at this comment.
“You know, I never thought it about that way.” Miroku said.
“Very funny! But you will soon find out I don’t have a sense of humor!” Naraku yelled.
“Oooo, somebodies getting a little defensive!” Kevin yelled.
“Enough of this!” Naraku looked at Howard. “Kill them!”
“Yes, Master Naraku!” Howard sent several of his mimics after them. Sango, Miroku, and Kilala distracted the mimics long enough for the rest of the group to go after Howard. Sesshomaru and Jakin flew into the air toward the building Naraku was on.
“Good luck, Sesshomaru!” Kevin yelled as he was running to join the battle with Howard.
“Ha, ha! I don’t believe in it, but thanks anyway!” Sesshomaru smiled at Kevin before flying higher. Kevin stopped and watched him go up.
“Boy, when he’s not killing people and tearing demon’s arms off, he’s a pretty nice guy.” Kevin then looked at his watch. It was now 10:05. “Oh no!” Kevin ran toward the battle with Howard and talked to Inuyasha. “Inuyasha! We’ve got five minutes before the new moon rises in the sky!”
“Well, then let’s do some damage before I become human!” Inuyasha yelled. He drew the Tetsuiga and prepeared to fight.
“I like that attitude! Let’s do it!” Kevin smiled and got into a combat position. They ran forward to help Kagome and Shippo with Howard.

Sesshomaru landed in front of Naraku on the building.
“Sesshomaru, I wasn’t aware that you were helping your enemies now.” Naraku said.
“My only enemy is you, Naraku. Prepare to die.” Sesshomaru drew his sword that wasn’t in the sheath. He held it in the demon arm. Sesshomaru charged forward and swung the sword at Naraku. He cut the baboon skin in half. The two halves fell on the ground, but it didn’t look like Naraku was in there. Sesshomaru looked up and noticed Naraku standing on the highest part of the building. He wasn’t wearing his baboon skin. Instead, he had a black kimono on.
“Nice try.” Naraku said as he drew a katana.
Sesshomaru smirked at him, “I should have known you would have tried something like that!” Sesshomaru took a fighting stance. Naraku prepared to fight also.
“Get him, Lord Sesshomaru!” Jakin yelled.

While this was going on, Kevin, Inuyasha, Shippo, and Kagome were fighting with Howard. Miroku and Sango were battling against the mimics.
“Dragon Twister!” Inuyasha fired a tornado out of the Tetsuiga at Howard. Howard dodged it and then charged forward. He punched Inuyasha and sent him flying into an alley that was nearby.
“Inuyasha!” Kevin ran over to the alley to check on Agnosia. He looked up at the sky and then at his watch. According to both, the new moon had completely risen. Kevin made it into the alley and looked at Inuyasha.
“You okay?” He asked. Inuyasha got up and rubbed his head. His hair had turned black and his dog ears had disappeared.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” Inuyasha felt his head. “Oh, guess I’m human now.” Inuyasha picked up the Tetsuiga, which had transformed into its regular form, a small katana that was cracked in a few places.
“I like you better with silver hair.” Kevin helped Inuyasha to his feet. “You’d better stay here, you’re in no condition to fight.” Kevin said.
“Okay, I agree with you. I’ll stay.” Inuyasha said. “Could I at least watch the fight, though?”
“Uh, sure. Are you sure you’re okay?” Kevin asked.
“Yeah, I said I’m okay. You’d better get back to the fight.” Inuyasha said.
“Okay, watch yourself.” Kevin left the alley and ran back into the square. He met up with Kagome, who was shooting at Howard with arrows. Shippo was keeping him occupied with the multiply spell. Kagome noticed Kevin and talked to him.
“Is Inuyasha okay?” Kagome asked.
“He’s fine. He became human, so I told him to stay out of the battle.” Kevin said.
“Are your powers still intact?” Kagome asked.
“Yeah, my claws and fangs are still there so I guess Transfusions aren’t affected by the new moon.”
“Transfusions?” Kagome launched a arrow and then turned back to Kevin.
“That’s the name Sesshomaru said demons like me are called. But about Inuyasha, it’s weird the way he was acting. He didn’t object when I told him to stay out of the fight, he didn’t even complain at all. It was like I was talking to a different person.” Kevin said. He threw some blood blades toward a few mimics before looking at Kagome again.
“Could you go in and help Shippo? I’m gonna’ go check on him.” Kagome asked.
“Sure, no problem.” Kevin ran into the battle while Kagome ran over to Inuyasha. Howard had cornered Shippo and was ready to take him out when Kevin tackled him. Kevin got to his feet and ran over to Shippo.
“You okay, Shippo?” Kevin asked.
“I’m fine now that you’re here.” Shippo said.
“Kinda sucks having to fight someone who’s way bigger than you, right?” Kevin asked.
“Yeah, I guess.” Shippo said.
“Well, I’m here, so you’re not alone in fighting this guy. Now let’s take him out.” Kevin said.
“Right.” Shippo said. Howard got to his feet.
“You’re going to pay for that one!” He yelled.
“How about I shut your smart mouth for you?” Shippo asked.
“Big words for such a small rodent.” Howard said.
“Hey! He’s a fox, not a mouse.” Kevin said.
“That’s right! Don’t get your animals mixed up, idiot!” Shippo yelled.
“Who’s going to stop me, you?” Howard looked at Kevin. “Pathetic, you’re trying to fight against me? I trimmed hedges on your dirty lawn that were more difficult than this battle.”
“You’d better stop talking before you get my foot halfway up your ass.” Kevin said.
“Die!” Howard ran forward and Kevin charged also. The two of them rammed their arms together.
“Keep in mind, Howard. I’m not forgetting this and neither will my parents.” Kevin said.
“Whatever, take this!” Howard broke the grab and punched Kevin, sending flying across the square and into a police officer.
“Sorry. Didn’t mean that.” Kevin got back up and ran toward Howard again. This time, Howard grabbed Kevin by the shoulder and wouldn’t let go.
“I’ll crush you!” Howard yelled. However, an arrow enveloped in purple light struck Howard, flinging him on his back. Kevin turned around and noticed Kagome holding her bow.
“Thanks, I thought he was about to break my shoulder.” Kevin said.
“You’re welcome.” Kagome said.
“Okay, Howard. Now you really ticked me off. You messed with the bull and you’re about to get the horns.” Kevin said. He charged forward and prepared to fight with Howard.

Meanwhile, Sesshomaru continued to fight against Naraku.
“You cannot win against me! I am all powerful!” Naraku yelled.
“You think that, but it is actually out of pure luck you have survived for this long.” Sesshomaru said. The two of them locked weapons together. They then broke the lock.
“Die!” Naraku fired a ball of white light out of his hand. It slammed into Sesshomaru and sent him flying off of the building and into the crowd, but he got back up. The reporter then came up to him.
“Sir, can we get a comment from you on the situation?” The reporter asked.
“No.” Sesshomaru said. The cameraman filmed him as he flew back onto the building.
“Are you okay, Lord Sesshomaru?” Jakin asked.
“I am unharmed. The same will not be for you, Naraku.” Sesshomaru formed a string of green light from his human looking arm and swung it at Naraku. Naraku blocked the numerous strikes from the whip and fired another ball of energy. Sesshomaru pointed his sword at the energy ball. It stopped in place and flew back toward Naraku. Naraku dodged it and came back toward Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru quickly dodged another strike from Naraku.
“Poison claw!” Sesshomaru stretched his arm out and fired a green wind blast at Naraku. Jakin scrambled to move out of the way. The blast melted a part of the building, but Naraku simply leaped over it.
“Very interesting, you fight very good.” Naraku said.
“Yeah, you may talk tough now, but you can’t dodge my attacks forever.” Sesshomaru said.

A few hours had passed since the battle began. It was now about 5:30 a.m. The sun would be rising soon. Kevin, Shippo, and Kagome were still fighting Howard, and Miroku and Sango were fighting the demons he spawned. Inuyasha came up to the crowd and watched the fight. Shippo looked over toward Miroku and Sango, who were beginning to have problems.
“Hey, guys. I’m going to go help Miroku and Sango.” Shippo said.
Kevin, who was about 20 feet away from Howard looked over at him, “That’s fine, me and Kagome can handle Howard.” Kevin said. Suddenly, Howard turned his arm into a sharp tree branch and shot it out toward Kevin. Inuyasha noticed what was going on and ran into the center.
“Look out, Kevin!” Kagome yelled. Kevin turned around and noticed the tree branch coming toward him, but he knew he couldn’t move in time.
“Uh, oh.” Kevin said. He shielded himself and prepared for the blow. However, Inuyasha jumped in front of him and took the blow. The tree branch stabbed right through his chest. Kevin was sprayed with some of his blood. He then looked and noticed Inuyasha. Kevin dashed forward and pulled the tree branch out of Inuyasha’s chest before he cut it in half with his claw. The tree branch retracted back toward Howard.
“Inuyasha!” Kagome saw what had happened and ran over to them.
“Ouch, I’m okay.” Inuyasha was laying on the ground. Kevin and Kagome were kneeling above him.
“He’s hurt pretty bad.” Kagome said.
“Come on, don’t die on me now.” Kevin said.
“I don’t.....plan on it.” Inuyasha said. Howard started walking toward them.

Over where the mimics were at, Miroku noticed what was going on.
“Inuyasha’s been wounded!” Miroku knocked a mimic away with his staff.
“What?” Sango asked. She jumped in the air and kicked a mimic in the head.
“I said Inuyasha’s been wounded. Oh no, the gardiner is going toward them.”
“But we can’t get out of here to stop him!” Shippo said.

Kevin looked at Howard, then at Inuyasha, and back at Howard again.
“Are you happy? Your desire for revenge against me caused you to hurt an innocent person. How does that make you feel?” Kevin asked. Howard stopped and stared at Kevin. Kevin looked at the ground, the sheath that had the Tetsuiga in it was laying on the ground next to Inuyasha. Kevin picked it up and drew the sword. The Tetsuiga didn’t transform, however.
“Back off.” Kevin said.
“Pathetic fool, how dare you challenge me. I’m going to kill you and then take care of your parents and that annoying sister of yours.” Howard said.
Anger flowed into Kevin’s eyes, “You son of a bitch! I’m going to take you down!” Kevin charged forward and began swinging the Tetsuiga at Howard. The dull and cracked blade, however, did nothing to Howard. Kevin knew he was in trouble.
“Worthless human, prepare to be destroyed!” Howard said. Howard prepared to run towards Kevin, but was stopped when the Tetsuiga emitted a bright light. It lit up the entire square. The light then receded. The Tetsuiga had transformed into a large blade with white animal fur on the section between the blade and the handle.
“He made it transform.” Kagome said.
“No, this is impossible!” Howard yelled. From the building, Sesshomaru could see the battle.
“Hmmm, that was unexpected.” Sesshomaru looked toward the battle, but then turned again to avoid an attack from Naraku.
“Still going to kill me and my family?” Kevin asked.
“Uh....” Howard charged toward Kevin and began to attack, but Kevin used the Tetusiga to block the attacks. Kevin rolled out of the way and took a few swipes of his own.
“Boy, for a huge sword this thing is pretty light.” Kevin said. Kevin leapt over another attack from Howard and used the Tetsuiga to slice Howard’s back.
“Ahhhhhhhhhhh!” Howard screamed. Suddenly, hundreds of mimics shrouded in black light emerged from Howard’s back with the rushing force of a dam breaking open. They all floated above the town square. People in the crowd began screaming. Sesshomaru threw Naraku off of him and ran to the edge.
“Kevin! Use the Wind Scar!” Sesshomaru yelled.
“The wind what?” Kevin asked.
“The Wind Scar! It’s the ultimate power of the Tetsuiga, able to kill a hundred demons with one swing!” Sesshomaru was then tackled by Naraku again.
“Okay, here we go.” Kevin bent down and held the Tetsuiga behind him. White light started to build inside of it. Eventually, it completely filled the sword.
“Wind Scar!” Kevin swung the Tetsuiga. A crescent of white energy shot out of the blade and headed toward the Mimics in the air. It cut through every one of them and destroyed them all. Green blood then shot out of Howard’s back. A puddle of it formed on the ground. It had turned back to a red color and two shards of the Shikon jewel were in the center. Howard transformed back into human form and fell to the ground. Some paramedics rushed into the square and pulled him out. Kevin dropped the Tetsuiga, which was stained with green and red blood. Kevin walked forward and picked up the two jewel shards, and then turned around and ran back to Inuyasha and Kagome.
“He’s not doing very good.” Kagome said.
“I’ve been hurt worse.” Inuyasha said. He groaned. “Kevin, in case I don’t make it, carry on the fight.”
“Shut up! Of course you’re going to make it. You can get through this.” Kevin said.
“Still, it was nice to be able to meet someone like you. I....I’m sorry for attacking you, for not being nicer to you than I could have. Ugh, good bye, Kevin.” Inuyasha then closed his eyes. His head tilted to the left. Kagome felt the side of his neck. She was fighting back tears.
“I can’t find a pulse.” She said in a weepy voice. Meanwhile, the mimics that were fighting Sango, Miroku, and Shippo disintegrated. They noticed what was going on.
“Is he....” Sango started.
“No, it can’t be.” Miroku said. Tears began to from into Shippo’s eyes. Kevin then slammed his fist into the ground, causing a small crack to appear.
“Damn it! He sacrificed his life to stop me from suffering a wound I could have survived!” Kevin yelled. He looked at his knuckles and noticed they were bleeding from punching the ground. He then looked at the wound Inuyasha had in his chest and remembered what Myoga had said about demon blood healing wounds. “That’s it,” Kevin whispered at first, “that’s freakin’ it!” Kevin raised his hand up and made a cut in his arm.
“What are you doing?!” Kagome asked.
“Helping him.” Kevin knelt over Inuyasha and let the blood from his cut seep into the chest wound. “I hope this works.” The rest of the group came over to see what was happening.
“Oh no! He is gone!” Shippo said. Sango turned around and hugged Miroku. Miroku smiled and took advantage of the situation by placing his hand on Sango’s butt.
“Not for long he isn’t.” Kevin said. Suddenly, Inuyasha opened his eyes and he opened his mouth as if life was flowing back into him.
“I’ve got a pulse.” Kagome said in a shocked voice. She looked at Kevin, who was surprised himself. Inuyasha then closed his eyes again, but it looked like he was breathing fine.
“I saved him.” Kevin said with a shocked tone, but he then smiled. “Yeah!” Kevin put his fist into the air in excitement. Shippo ran over to them. Sango stopped hugging Miroku, looking at him angrily.
“It’s a special way of hugging people that monks use.” Miroku said.
“Uh, huh. Remind to deck you later.” Sango ran over to them, along with Miroku.
“How did you know to do that?” Shippo asked.
“Instinct I guess. Inuyasha helped me with his blood, and I helped him with mine.” Kevin said. He turned around and looked at the top of the building where Sesshomaru and Naraku were fighting. He stood up. “Kagome, watch over Inuyasha.”
“I think he’ll be fine, but what are you going to do?” Kagome said. Kevin looked into the sky, which was beginning to light up because the sun would rise on the horizon soon.
“I’ve got a score to settle.” Kevin walked forward and picked up the Tetsuiga and gave it to Miroku along with the sheath. “Hang onto that for me.”
“Be careful.” Miroku said.
“Watch out for him, Naraku is a lot faster than he looks.” Sango said.
“Don’t worry, I will.” Kevin said. He ran toward the side of the building and began to run up it.

Sesshomaru was knocked across the building and into a wall.
“Damn you, Naraku.” Sesshomaru said. He got back up, but as he did, his demon arm fell off. “Well, that’s great.” Sesshomaru said with a sarcastic tone. Naraku started walking toward Sesshomaru. Jakin stepped in his path.
“You will not hurt Lord Sesshomaru!” Jakin yelled.
“Out of my way.” Naraku started charging an energy ball and aimed it at Jakin. Jakin stood his ground, but he looked very afraid. Kevin then made it up to the ledge and dashed toward Naraku. Kevin tackled Naraku and brought him down. The energy ball launched and hit an area next to where Jakin was standing. Jakin looked at the small crater and then fainted. Naraku and Kevin got up and faced each other.
“How dare you attack me! You must be very stupid.” Naraku yelled.
“You’re gonna’ think I’m really dumb after this.” Kevin dashed forward and clawed Naraku in the face. Naraku then grabbed Kevin and held him in the air.
“I do not like being attacked by a little insect like you.” Naraku then formed an energy ball in his other hand. He threw Kevin into the air, then jumped above Kevin and fired the energy ball downward, driving Kevin straight through the building. Naraku looked down the hole.
“I’ll deal with you later.” He said to Sesshomaru before jumping down into the hole.

Kevin was smashed through several floors and layers of concrete before he eventually landed on a moving subway train underground.
“Ouch, that hurt.” Kevin groaned. He stood up and looked around. Naraku then landed on the end of the train and started walking toward him. Kevin put up his fists and prepared to fight.
“So, you are the one who gave my demons so much trouble when they were trying to attack that village.” Naraku stopped when he was about 10 feet away from Kevin.
“How did you know about that?” Kevin asked.
“I received reports from every demon that came back. I then traveled here to try and take over this world. It was a very easy task manipulating that dense gardener.” Naraku said.
“That’s it, I’m going to drill you so hard, you’ll have a fist imprint for about a week!” Kevin yelled.
“Do you really think you can fight against me? I am an all powerful demon, you are a mere human who has somehow acquired demon powers. You can’t win.” Naraku smiled.
“Who says I can’t?” Kevin asked. Naraku then glared at Kevin and charged forward. Kevin blocked a punch from Naraku and retaliated with a kick that sent Naraku flying across the train.
“Very impressive.” Naraku got back up.
“I’m just getting warmed up.” Kevin said. Kevin ran toward and attempted a jump-kick, but Naraku ducked. Kevin then turned around and threw a punch at Naraku, but Naraku blocked it with his wrist. Naraku threw a punch and hit Kevin in the chest, but Kevin came back with another punch. Naraku grabbed Kevin and threw him behind him, but Kevin landed on his feet and threw some red blades out of his hand. One of them made a gash in Naraku’s shoulder, while another cut a piece of his hair off. Naraku then ran forward and attempted a kick, but Kevin stuck his leg up and blocked the kick before punching Naraku in the face. Naraku fired an energy blast at Kevin, but Kevin ducked it and ran toward Naraku. He lifted Naraku up and tried to throw him off the train, but Naraku was able to reverse the grab and threw Kevin across the train again. Just as Kevin got back up, Naraku dashed toward him and started rapidly punching him. Unable to retaliate, Kevin ducked another punch and started running across the train. Eventually, he reached the front, but Naraku caught up to him.
“Now, now, it isn’t polite to run away from a battle.” Naraku said. Kevin turned around and started running toward Naraku.
“Iron Reaver Soul Stealer!” Kevin tried to slash Naraku, but Naraku ducked, then jumped over Kevin’s attacks and kicked him in the head. Kevin flipped backwards three times in the air before landing on his feet. Naraku charged again, but this time, Kevin bent down and let Naraku get over him before leaning back up and sending Naraku flying to the edge of the train. Just as Naraku got up and turned around, Kevin rushed forward, punched Naraku twice with both of his fists, and kicked him off of the train. Naraku flew through the air and ended up landing on the back of another train that appeared at a junction. The two trains then ended up on the same track. Naraku got up and turned toward Kevin. The two drivers of Kevin’s train noticed Naraku on the train in front of them. They were bored because they had been traveling their route all night with not one passenger on the train.
“Hey,” the driver asked, “who’s that?”
“Maybe he’s one of the new mobile maintenance guys.” The second driver said.
“Pretty interesting outfit.” The driver said. Naraku then stuck out his hand and formed an energy ball in it. The two drivers then looked at him with fear and got up from their seats. One of them opened a hatch on the floor and they both got into an experimental evacuation pod that ran along the track on some wheels. The pod set off just as Naraku fired the energy blast. The blast stuck the front of the train, causing it to explode in a massive ball of flame.

Meanwhile, the rest of the group was watching over Inuyasha. The sun was peeking over the horizon.
“Oh, I’m so worried about Kevin.” Kagome said.
“I’m sure Kevin can handle himself.” Miroku said.
“Besides, if things get too intense, Kevin would be smart enough to get out of there.” Shippo said.
“For some reason, I think Kevin is the one person who is best qualified to take on Naraku.” Sesshomaru said. He was being treated by Sango for the wounds he suffered from the battle.
“Why do you think that, Sesshomaru?” Sango asked. She tied a bandage around his arm.
“Not so tight, anyway, there is something that I have sensed in Kevin from the moment I met him. A great power that even I cannot explain.” Sesshomaru said.
“But no demon is more powerful than you, right, Lord Sesshomaru?” Jakin asked.
“At this point I’m not sure.” Sesshomaru said.
“By the way, thanks for letting Kilala take care of your used demon arm.” Sango said. Kilala was chewing on the black demon arm.
“I’m glad someone’s enjoying it.” Sesshomaru said. The sunlight then highlighted the unconscious Inuyasha. His hair almost instantly turned silver and his eyes opened.

Back in the subway tunnel, Naraku put his hand back down and smiled at his apparent victory. While the train was still moving, the front was on fire and it was beginning to go out of control.
“Stupid human. I guess I was wrong about him after all.” Naraku said. He looked at the front of the train and noticed what looked like something coming out of the flame. “Huh, what is that?” Kevin then flew through the fire and through the air. He landed on the end of the other train. He appeared to be unharmed, except for the scrapes and cuts on his face. His jacket was on fire, so he took it off and dropped it on the ground and stomped it out.
“You’re really gonna’ get it now, Naraku. That was my favorite jacket.” Kevin stood in place and crossed his arms.
“This, this is impossible! That explosion should have killed you! How were you able to live through it?” Naraku asked.
“Hey, I’m a demon just like you. It was pretty easy.” Kevin said.
“You are not a demon like me! How is it that you look and act completely human, yet, you have the energy of a pure demon. I’m positive your human form is not disguising a greater demon form, so what are you?” Naraku asked.
“You want to know what I am? I’ll tell you then. I’m a transfusion.” Kevin said. Naraku’s eyes widened with fear. “Yeah, you know what I am. You know exactly how powerful a transfusion can be.” Kevin said. He started walking toward Naraku.
“Get away from me!” Naraku yelled.
Kevin stopped and crossed his arms. He had a grin on his face.
“What’s wrong, Naraku? Afraid of a “mere human?” Come on, I’m not invulnerable.” Kevin turned to show Naraku the cut on his face. “See? You did that.” Kevin pointed to the cut and then turned back to Naraku. “So what do you say, Naraku, want to be the first demon in history to defeat a transfusion? If you do....” Kevin put his hand out and made the “come here” motion with it, “then show me what you got!” Kevin stood in place and crossed his arms again. Naraku charged toward Kevin.
“Die!!!!!” Naraku threw a punch at Kevin, but Kevin dodged it with a quick movement, leaving a shadowy image of himself in the place where he had been. Naraku tried again, but the same thing happened. Naraku tried another punch, but Kevin dodged that as well. Naraku threw more punches and Kevin dodged them all. Naraku reeled up for another punch, but this time, Kevin caught Naraku’s fist in his palm.
“What?” Naraku asked. Kevin then lifted Naraku up by his fist and slammed him down on the train. Naraku got back up and tried to tackle Kevin, but Kevin darted behind him and kicked him down.
“What happened, Naraku? You were doing pretty good until now.” Kevin asked.
Naraku got back up. “You were holding back! You didn’t do that before!”
“Still think you’re the most powerful demon in the world, Naraku?” Kevin asked.
“I’ll destroy you! I’ll kill all who oppose me and then become ruler of this world!” Naraku yelled.
“Hmmmmm, I doubt it.” Kevin looked behind Naraku.
“And what reason would you have for that?” Naraku asked.
“That.” Kevin pointed behind Naraku. Naraku turned around only to see Inuyasha come down on him with the Tetsuiga. Inuyasha then stood behind him, holding the Tetsuiga.
“No, it can’t be. I can’t be defeated.” Naraku said. He was starting to fall apart into dust.
“Hey, at least you tried.” Inuyasha said.
“Damn you all! But don’t get too confident, you have not truly beaten me!” Naraku yelled just as he fell into dust and floated away.
“Whew, talk about an intense battle.” Kevin said. He looked behind Inuyasha and noticed Sesshomaru stopping the burning train.
“Hey, you okay?” Inuyasha asked.
“I’m fine, but what about you? You got stabbed through the chest.” Kevin said.
“Hey, no big deal. Anyway, let’s head back to the surface, everyone’s waiting for you.” Inuyasha said.
“What about the train behind us?” Kevin asked. Sesshomaru then flew up onto the train they were on.
“It is completely stopped, it won’t pose a threat.” Sesshomaru said.
“Okay, I guess were okay then.” Kevin said.

Back on the surface, Inuyasha, Kevin, and Sesshomaru met up with the rest of the group who was in a street next to the square. The crowd around the square was beginning to disperse, but the police were still there in order to keep the peace. The sun was now far in the sky.
“Kevin! You’re alright!” Sango, with Kilala on her shoulder, ran up to Kevin and hugged him. Kevin blushed and then looked at Inuyasha. Kagome then came up to him.
“I’m glad you’re okay.” She said.
“Hey, it takes more than a tree branch through the chest to finish me off.” Inuyasha said. Kevin then looked over to Miroku and Shippo, who were looking at something. The rest of them walked toward them.
“What is it, Miroku?” Kevin asked.
“Look what I found in the alleyway over here.” Miroku showed everyone a wooden disc that had what looked like a tuning fork on top of it. A piece of the tuning fork was missing.
“Is that what I think it is?” Inuyasha asked.
“Yeah, it’s one of Naraku’s controllers for his demon puppets.” Shippo said.
“Demon whats?” Kevin asked.
“Naraku has several demon puppets, which are kinda like clones of himself, that he sends out in order to keep himself safe. They all have a certain type of special power.” Kagome said.
“So, we didn’t kill the real Naraku, just one of his clones?” Kevin asked.
“Exactly, I’m guessing he probably fled back to our world.” Sesshomaru said. Kevin’s mom and dad ran up to the group.
“Mom, Dad! You’re okay!” Kevin hugged both of them.
“Yes, we’re fine. The hospital called, they said Howard is going to be fine also. I guess if he isn’t wanting to kill us anymore, he can come back to work.” Kevin’s mom said.
“Also, I worked most of the night trying to fix that wall. It isn’t done yet, but I think the portal might be up again.” Kevin’s dad said.
“So then we can go back to our time and chase after Naraku.” Miroku said.
“We’d better hurry then, I won’t be able to keep his scent for long.” Inuyasha said.
“Okay, let’s go.” The group started moving, but Kevin stopped and noticed Sesshomaru was walking away. “Hold up a sec, wait, Sesshomaru!” Kevin ran toward him. Sesshomaru turned around and looked at Kevin. “Thanks, for everything you did.”
“It was an honor fighting alongside you, Kevin. I’m glad that all humans aren’t mindless idiots. Anyway, good luck in developing your powers. I hope we may meet again soon.” Sesshomaru offered his hand to Kevin, and Kevin shook his hand.
“See ya later.” Kevin smiled.
“I’m sure I will.” Sesshomaru then turned around and flew into the air. As he did, he got a smile on his face.
“Lord Sesshomaru, was that a smile I just saw on your face?” Jakin asked.
“Jakin.”
“Yes, Lord Sesshomaru?”
“Tell anyone, and I’ll use your spine as a toothpick, understood?”
“Uh, yes sir.”

Back in Kevin’s house, everyone was preparing to go through the portal.
“Hey, see you later, Kagome.” Kevin said.
“Hey, don’t be afraid to come back once the wall’s fixed.” Kagome said.
“Don’t worry I will.” Kevin said. Kagome then walked up to the portal and went through it.
“It was great meeting you, Kevin.” Miroku said.
“Watch it with the girls, man. You’ve been assaulted by females more often than anyone I know.” Kevin said.
“I shall try to take your advice.” Miroku said.
“That reminds me of something.” Sango walked forward and uppercutted Miroku into the portal.
“Goodbye, Sango.” Kevin said.
“It won’t be for long, don’t worry.” Sango said. Kevin and Sango then came closer to each other and they kissed.
“Our boy found a girlfriend.” Kevin’s dad said.
“She is very beautiful.” Kevin’s mom said.
“Goodbye, Kevin.” Sango walked up to the portal and jumped through, Kilala following her. Kevin watched as she left and then smiled.
“See you soon, Kevin!” Shippo walked through the portal.
“See ya, Shippo!” Kevin said. Inuyasha then walked next to Kevin.
“Well, I guess this is goodbye for now.” Inuyasha said.
“Take care, man, take care.” Kevin said. The two of them hugged each other and patted each other’s back. They then separated and Inuyasha left through the portal. Kevin looked at the portal wall, which had wooden blocks to support it set up. He knew that he had stumbled upon something great, and that his adventures with Inuyasha, Kagome, Shippo, Miroku, Sango, and Kilala were not over yet. He was a transfusion, and he accepted the responsibility he had to use his demon powers to defend the innocent against all evil and injustice.
THE END.
