ONLINE FRIENDS

As I sat here, sad and debating
Over bills that have been waiting;
I pondered "Should I go or stay?"
And the answer came to me this way:

I got a card from an online friend
And my resolve started to bend;
For she was one of many met here
That have made their friendship clear.

I read some new poems another posted,
Unassuming, he never boasted
Yet his words were beautiful to my ears;
I may have to stay here for years!

For all the smiles and tears
We have shared throughout the years,
Another online friend writes of life
His love of poetry and of his wife.

For all the thought and all the smiles
That these online friends send 'cross the miles;
I thank them all for being there for me
And wish them blessings clear to see.

To you, my online friends,
With all best wishes for
The very best Happy New Year ever!
