BETRAYED Love is but a game of chance, Just a gamble at its best; The one she loved has proved untrue Leaving her soul in unrest. Her voice cries out in pain, Yet no one hears her grief; She lifts the potion to her lips Seeking only sweet relief. In a tiny churchyard Is the spot where she was laid; A woman who loved too deeply And found herself betrayed. Countrymom 1/2/04
