Daddy's Little Girl
I gazed up into his eyes, As he held me in his arms, Wrapped in a hospital blanket, Seeing my father for the first time, He said: "Never forget how much your Daddy loves you". Through bitter divorce, Endless tears fell, My kindergarten self sensed sadness, Despite pain and fear of separation, He said: "Never forget how much your Daddy loves you". As I grew stronger, With each day as it passed, He has always been there with a hug, Or wise words when they were needed, He always said: "Never forget how much your Daddy loves you". When high school days are rough, And reassurance is needed, I can always rely on his kindness, Sometimes all I need to hear is: "Never forget how much your Daddy loves you". I love you, Dad.
