Prompt: This time we'll visit Waycross, Georgia. Your form this time: "The Neuvain"
The Neuvain. The scheme of the neuvain (ABABACDCD) is built up out of a quintain , followed by a quatrain. You can see it in the changing rhyme – the quintain has the scheme ABABA and the quatrain CDCD. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “Way-a-cross there,” a pretty maiden cooed, pointing toward the men the Colonel sought. Supposedly, a city’s name pursued by a lovely Belle who had coyly thought to hint with boldish, Southern attitude, a name for a town; a fame that might fit this place where many roads from afar came. “Way Cross,” the Colonel said with crafty wit... That’s how Waycross finally got its name. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
