Sweet Mountain Girl Sweet mountain girl did you know? I cried when we parted years ago. Your love I wanted was not to be. You chose another, forgot about me. My poor heart was broken over you. You was my first, I thought you knew? Called me to say you were pregnant, Said you loved me and to accept it. All though my love for you was true, What did you really expect me to do? I could'nt forgive you for what you did. In my heart, I was an innocent kid. I think why you gave yourself to him, You loved me, it should not have been. Maybe if I'd been a more macho man. The baby was mine, not part of him. I treated and respected you as a lady. On a pedestal like an innocent baby, Sweet mountain girl I won't forget you. My first love, you broke my heart into.
