Castle Deep
A poem about standing watch on a castle.

In cloistered halls
Of darkened walls
Where dim light images
Play

Of castles bound
Without a sound
Where waves they break
Away

And knights so bold
Tell Stories old
Where sword and mace
Prevail

Of dragons teeth
And honors feat
Where maidens fair
Regale

On ramparts stand
With rapier hand
Where night’s demise
Beware

From Gates of might
With wooden sight
Where forests are laid
Bare

With eyes of red
Foreboding dread
Where dragon’s lairs are
Found

With sword held high
Breathe eye to eye
Where man and beast stand
Proud

With stories old
And Knights so bold
Where honor holds the
Heart

Neither man nor beast
But it’s in the feat
Where life and death
Depart
