Contradiction
contradictions in winter

Birds are flying
white and painted with morning sun,
sea birds without a sea.
Why are you going,
northward
when there’s winter in your wings?

Furrowed field
is turning green
when all else lies dying,
spring heart in winter’s waste.
Why are you growing
when it’s time to sleep?
