A simple bridge o’er rushing stream
is all that stands between this rocky, rambling, wrenching road and pastures lush and green. Yet troll steps out and blocks the way with gangly green-toothed grin. “Turn back!” it snarls. “The likes of you will never pass within!” “Let me pass!” I boldly cry my righteous forward plans, as if by size and strength alone I’ll get all my demands. I rant and rave at obstacles, yet never, ever see ‘tis fairy tale that I’ll prevail, you see… that troll is me.
