When the time comes,
Trust you'll know in your heart; I'll look at you softly, You'll know paths must now part. But you mustn't be sad, Look at this as a gift, Let me go out of love, Give me one final lift. I need your strength now Even more than the past, When I felt insecure Your support held me fast. We've ridden together In trust you and I, You've been my true partner, Now let me ride to the sky. I'm just leaving one place, Heading off for another, Our bond will insure, Over you I'll still hover. I'll be there for you, In a vast clear blue sky, Or whenever you ride, Trails we shared, you and I. I'll be in the smell Of worn leather and sweat, When you hear nature's silence I'll be there, you can bet. I'll be running and jumping With each new born foal, Wherever horses are gathered You'll still find my soul. For I'm heart and I'm spirit, Things you cannot contain, And it's those that you'll summon, When you call out my name. So let me go out of love, Know my suffering ends, Trust I'll be with you forever... Let me go with God, my dear friend.
