Surrender
Quizmo LaGrande Surrender to the wind To the ocean’s calm reflection. Wonder which is real Or merely recollection. Surrender to the breeze Laze about in warm abduction. Ease about like sails Full with zephyrs of seduction That can whip about like fire In an instant of corruption A coldness—icy, horrid A blatant interruption. Surrender to the currents Anchor not the inclination That with the tide, so goes the will, Independence, and salvation. So… Surrender to reflection, To the ocean’s charming glance. That the image you are seeing Is not merely there by chance. Surrender to the vision Cast by mirror’s goading grace That publicly announces Your smile or brooding face. Surrender to the wonder Of a likeness in the glass That indicates a sadness Or happiness… at last.
