Wrapped in Inner Peace
Thoughts about the world we live in...

You must be afraid,
Says the man on the tube,
There's a this and a that
Threatening our precious food.

Be alert, be aware,
Say the newspeople serious,
Then they profile people,
Who enforce the precarious.

So I look to a book,
For some solace and calm,
Yet bestsellers seem hooked,
On all in life that's gone wrong.

My fresh morning paper
Is full of sad news,
Our country is struggling,
People lost and confused.

We're all being led,
Down this negative path,
Daily bombarded and brainwashed,
In a media bath.

Here's a thought for the world,
Albeit crazy I agree,
Say we quit reading mags and papers,
All turn off our T.V's?

Make an effort to shake off,
This societal cloak,
Of negative perspectives;
Let money moguls go broke.

Declare "I am free",
And start thinking ourselves,
Rediscover mother nature,
Take our lives off the shelves.

Go talk to a neighbor,
Re-connect with good friends,
Volunteer for the needy,
Quit buying according to trends.

Discover the positive,
Dwelling inside you and me;
It's there to be found,
You can indeed still break free.

Stop and stare at a sunset,
Gaze in awe at a tree,
Find your balance in life,
Not your mindless T.V.

Let the pundits wax negative,
You go spread some good cheer,
We create what we think about,
So make sure you're quite clear,

That life isn't commercial,
It's not grounded in fear,
It doesn't thrive on more stuff,
The end isn't yet near.

I believe deep inside,
We all know this is true,
We've just so long been told,
"This" is better for you.

That's not true, it's their agenda,
Unplugged souls with "things" to be sold.
Seek your own truth, you will find it...
Wrapped in inner peace, not fool's gold.
