~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Written for:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ George Washington He generaled all our US forces Long before the US of A. We gave him scanty, new resources, So he shivered through many a day. Then at last a heroe's welcome We gave him when his troops obeyed. We played our flutes and hit our drums Because his army won the fray. And then we offered a kingly crown To set him up with a princely reign. But good old Washington turned it down. So on this day when we celebrate All the presidents who served us well, We mustn’t forget the first of the greats, For his integrity, Washington excells. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
