Night Walk

A burning red sun is setting in the distance
as the clouds paint their way across the horizon
a cool breeze causes me to shiver
as I stare hopelessly into the coming night sky

Stars slowly come out
like blooming morning flowers
the moon reflects on my face as my tears renew themselves
creating silver rivers of despair upon my cheeks

In my mind thoughts are running
of how things used to be
A family, once joined by love
but now torn apart by seperate beliefs

I can't help but wonder if things will ever be the same
Can we learn to love again?
Will we ever stop fighting?
I don't know, but night walks help calm my soul and soothe my heart
