Give a Damn
I just want someone to care, just to care about me.

Drowning in a flood of tears,
Helpless in the waves of depression.
No one to hold my hand,
Yank me up and hold me close.

Where's the one who promised to be there?
Why was I chosen to be set aside,
To view the world from a ten-story window?
I'm trying not to give a damn.

Running from a nightmare,
Lost in the shadows,
Forgotten in the dark.
Trembling in the corner with my eyes shut.

Stuck in the highest tower,
Afraid of being forever alone.
Waiting for my white knight,
To slay the dragon and carry me away.

Where is my happily ever after?
I'm afraid to look in his eyes and see nothing.
Afraid to believe that maybe, just maybe,
I am the only one to give a damn.

I just want to be swallowed in his arms,
My skin absorbing his kisses,
My body to be glowing with happiness.
I want him to give a damn.
