Touched By The Divine

God has given music
That we all may share His joy
At the hymns of adoration
That the Angel-Choir employ,
And, when we sing His praises,
And we see His glory shine,
It is then that we are truly
Touched by the Divine.

When we listen to the sweet notes
Given us from up above,
And the words that are inspired
So to tell us of His love,
And the great, uplifting feeling
When our hearts and souls combine,
It is then that we are truly
Touched by the Divine.

For we all have need of music
And the loving bonds it gives,
Lullabies and love-songs
Mark events along our lives.
It can show us consolation
When our hearts in sorrow pine,
It is then that we are truly
Touched by the Divine.
