For the SLAM's 2004 prompt: Lights on/ Lights off
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On, Off, Company Star He was a pulsar, A flashing ray of blinding light, Radiation at its wildest. All eyes centered, Watching the rapidity of his spin. He flashed with such a constancy, It amazed us all. For awhile, we lined up Just to watch his show. Then he spun faster and faster, And by autumn he was gone. Strange, how we didn’t miss him. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
