The Chance Not Taken
Writer's Cramp prompt poem

Once there was a chance I didn't take.

I was too concerned with outcome
instead of the moment.
I was too concerned with ego
instead of soul.
I was too concerned with appearances
instead of substance.
I was too concerned with opinions
instead of self-worth.
I was too concerned with illusion
instead of truth.
I was too concerned with safety
instead of growth.
I was too concerned...

Sadly, that has made all the difference.
