Stars of Loneliness

The darkest night is a starlit night, alone.
When bald, rotund Moon illuminates the sky;
I laugh. His image holds scant romantic tone.
Such passive ogling brings me no heart-throb high.

Winter’s starlit night leaks passion’s fire,
Stoking flames sequestered in a lover’s dream.
As those ardent lips bulge fat with desire,
Hearts sing music in always the same sweet theme.

The darkest night is a starlit night, alone.
I can hear those orbs deriding my solitude.
They have each other, some beloved star clone,
While I sit here solo -- dark and subdued.

For some, the stars bring the sweetest, heavenly delight,
But for me, such lights forecast yet another lonely night.

P.S. This is entirely fiction. I am not lonely. LOL
