I have walked this way before
And marveled at the Spring, I have stood in this very place And heard the river-frogs' song Heralding the newborn earth Filling me with wonder so strong. I have walked this way before And marveled at the Spring, I have stood in this very place And seen the new shades of green Clothing bare-limbed shiv’ring trees, Filling me with scenes so serene. I have walked this way before And marveled at the Spring, I have stood in this very place And felt soft-falling showers Warming the heart of the earth Filling my world with sweet flowers. I have walked this way before And marveled at the Spring, I have stood in this very place And tasted sweet-scented air Wafting through this fair bower Freeing me from worrisome care. I have walked this way before And marveled at the Spring, But I will walk this way no more, My heart shall no longer sing For you have gone far away And taken with you my sweet Spring. Written in memory of my beloved BabyCat, who was my Spring.
