Difference of One
A medium-length poem I wrote a few years ago. One of my favorites--another inspirational!

I am but one voice
Trivial
Small
Quiet
Easily lost in the voices of others
all saying different words.
Unheard
Unloved
Unknown
One voice so easily forgotten
What difference does one make?
Family
Friends
My one voice is heard
by other lonely voices.
Lonely voices listened to by still more
Family
Friends
Speak the words
of my one voice
to others
Until hundreds
Thousands
Of voices hear what I first said.
Words spoken
by my one voice
Trivial
Small
Quiet
Are whispered in the ears
of the world.
