Our Future Here Spawned... (Haiku)

Oh, womb of the earth
cradling deep the embryo
of man’s destiny...

Our future here spawned
awaits an uncertain birth...
bartered progeny.

Consequence gestates,
seared with the mark of neglect
suffered in our keep.

Precious time remains
to conquer loss and regret;
what we sow... we'll reap.
