A Poet's Pen
How and why the Muse inspires my poems.

A Poet's Pen

I paint a scene with a poet's eye
For seasons, green and gold,
My words, in changing colours, fly
As new year follows old.

I paint the sounds with a poet's ear
For rippling stream and brook,
With words of happy songs that cheer,
Written in my book.

I paint your heart with a poet's soul,
My heart goes out to yours,
My words take on a tender role
And weep o'er death and wars.

I paint the love with a poet's heart,
With passion, and with joy,
Of sweet romance about to start,
As girl meets with her boy.

This joyous gift has come my way,
A grace from up above,
So to inspire a reader's day
With words of hope and love.
