A donkey named Fred
Lived a life full of dread, Though in a pasture all lovely and green. He was lonely and sad Hardly ever was glad, For nowhere was a friend to be seen. Then one morning in spring He saw a marvelous thing All purple and tall it did gleem. "What a beautiful sight!" And his heart it gave flight, For he knew what this gift truly meaned. This new tulip brought joy Like a bright shiny toy, Mother Nature was wise, yes indeed. Even though all alone, He knew now in his home, Nature's spirit had left friends yet unseen.
