Until the Peepers Sleep
loud calls outside the monestary window at dusk

Day birds call
their last goodbyes
and chatter into night
through deeping blue
of dying day
and fading of the light;
final word before the night
they shout a little peep,
while silence waits to sing its tale
until the peepers sleep.
