Plains Twilight

Witnessing the sun set.
Mesmerized by the
play of light on clouds.
Winds that were rushing
through the plains
only an hour before
now settle in to sleep.
Nature seems satisfied
with Herself as she
dons her violet cloak
of night.
Owls and coyotes
sing Her to sleep.
She dreams of
the blush of dawn.
