The Giraffe and Me I wonder what it feels like to have a neck like a giraffe. I bet the kids at school come up and jeer at him and laugh. I know they would, because that’s what they always do to me, Even though I’ve nothing quite so strange at all to see. I wonder what it feels like to have spots everywhere you look. That poor giraffe must get picked on. I bet he hides in books. I know exactly how he feels, ‘cause I feel the same way, too. That’s where I hide my teary eyes when the taunting makes me blue. But maybe giraffes never don’t ridicule each other. And maybe in giraffe schools, they treat everyone like brothers. Then I wish I were a long-necked giraffe who towered above it all Instead of me, who’s scrawny and weak, and still sadly far too small. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
