Empty Shores
by Kim aka jarensbud

There is a cold, dark sea.
Its lonely waves splash and
Scream, battering the soul of me
Until I fall, unable to stand
The darkness. Wild dogs rail
On that unsafe shore, crying
Their despair. Listening, I pale,
Grow weak… Dying
Inside. The night lingers
Stroking the empty places
With ruthless fingers
That promise the traces
Will wither. Leaving
Nothing, letting me be.
That day my heart, grieving
Will stop and leave me free.
