MIDNIGHT STARS

As I scan the midnight stars
I look for the one, my own;
That which shone for me on earth
But now beckons far above.

Are you the one winking bright,
That reminds me of your smile;
In your own subtle manner,
Sending love from far above?

Or, the one that shyly blinks,
Avoiding my searching gaze;
Like a dove, gentle and meek,
Watching me from far above?

Or, the one that always stays
All the time in the same place
So that I lose not my path,
Guiding me from far above?

My love radiates from which
Of the stars I do not know
But I know that though not here,
She is up there, far above.
