“Salvation”
06-01-2004

Did you lose yourself along the way?
Falling through the darkness of uncertainty.
Did you forget who you are?
Dreaming of all your past mistakes.
Did you cry yourself to sleep again?
Lying awake, alone in the shadows.
Did you wish you were dead?
Wishing for a release from this existence.
Did you deny yourself a future?
Dwelling on your condemning sins.
Did you decide never to speak again?
Screaming silently for redemption.
Did you really want to escape your prison?
Releasing you from all this pain.
Did you find salvation in His Words?
Soothing your troubled mind.
Did you feel His Forgiveness?
Shouldering your burden as His Own.
Did you pray this morning?
Speaking to your savior.
Did you find what you are looking for?
Did you find Him?

Foreword: This poem is writing for my brother Matthew. He is currently residing in jail and has found religion through the Bible, which for him, is a wonderful thing. I hope it brings him comfort and peace. Just as a side note, I have gotten several emails claiming that I need to respect "Free will" and let people find religion on their own. Well, my brother and I are completely different religions and this is merely a piece to show my respect for his choices and my congratulations and hopes that he found some peace through being a Christian. I would never press my religion or any other upon someone so please take time to consider the fact that this piece is to commerate his faith, not to press my own onto others.
