A Love Poem
My entry to Anne's European Contest

Walk with me through the swirling mists of Oban
Down to the shore in God’s own land
Stand with me, on the West coast,
Where the Shannon meets the sea & the breakers roll for a thousand miles.
Sail with me on a tall ship, across the Baltic
From Helsinki harbour to Tallin.
Watch with me, the sun go down
Over the copper roofs of Prague & the walls of Dubrovnik
Feel with me, the warm sand of centuries
Beneath our feet on a deserted Cretan beach.
Shed a tear with me, at the rows of white
Under the scudding clouds of Flanders fields,
Dream with me, breathe a Tuscan sky
Of all these things, of you and I.
